I went a little CHUNKY at the coin store the other day, not on purpose mind you, but simply by somewhat accident.

See, these days, I have been trying to please the Mrs. @handofzara with my coin picks so as to avoid the . . .

And then having to explain, at least in my humble opinion, that silver is the most undervalued asset on the planet. And how silver used to be our money. And how silver kept everyone honest. And one fine day, she will be happy I stacked silver on the slow and steady. To wit she would usually say . . .

And so the story goes until I show her the Reverse.

OOOOOHHHH Polar bears, I love polar bears. She didn't even notice that this particular coin was a bit CHUNKY at 1.5 ounces, instead of my usual 1 ounce.

Now to a little more serious side of this post. While I was in the coin shop I had a very interesting conversation with the owners. So this is a little market report from my little corner of North Carolina. Apparently, there have been far more Sellers than Buyers these days.

Locally, people are selling their silver and gold, mostly jewelry and sterling flatware which they send off for melting. They described the sales as "distressed" because of "hard times" people need the cash.

Inflation is absolutely crushing folks. I get it, as my grandmother told me every time she gave me a piece of silver, "Now don't sell this, unless you need to buy something to eat."

My take on the conversation was that people are selling because they have nothing else to sell and they need to buy something to eat or to pay the rent.

We live in interesting times. We all need to do what we have to do to make it through and yet, I hate hearing how great folks who saved for such days are forced by circumstances to sell family heirlooms just to make it.

If you can, start a garden. If you have a garden, make it bigger! Neighbors is neighbors and no one should be forced to sell gold and silver for a bite to eat.

    Peace Out and Stack On!
