When things go badly, it is the first responders we often count on to deal with them. The worst situations can be very hard to deal with, and we all know lives can be at risk in dangerous situations. This pair of bronze statues for the local fire and police departments stands to honor the services these people provide. The uniforms, in the same style as the historic ones they wore in Calgary's early years, and the years and decades of service first responders put in to keep society functioning even if the worst happens, are well worth my respect.
