For the love of photography.

    Hello, everyone.

While growing up, we all had different dreams and different careers we all wanted to pursue. For many of us, photography was one of those many dreams we had. We gave it a try, and along the way, we were forced to give up on the dream because we had little or no time to give it the attention and time it needed. We gave up on the dream with the hope of coming back to it someday and making it a reality.

Those days, my dad had a cannon camera, and my siblings and I filled it up with pictures, both relevant and irrelevant. My dad was a photographer, and I had the dream of following suit, and with my dad as a cameraman, the job was already made easy as I didn't need to go about buying all that I needed from scratch as I could just use his camera, and when I was good enough, I could go about getting my own, but my dad left the photography line and focused on his main job. The camera got bad, and I was forced to let go since my dad was no longer in the line and he really was not in support of my photography dream.

In those days, photography was an empire that only those with cameras had access to, and those without cameras were kicked out. In those days, everyone with a dream of ever becoming a photographer must own at least one camera, and if you don't, you are not taken seriously. Today, gone are the days when the sign of a serious photographer was to own a camera. These days, people pursue their photography dreams differently, not necessarily with a camera.

Today, I am thanking God for technology. You don't really need a camera anymore, as people now engage in phone photography, and all you need to do is get a smartphone with a good camera. Lately, smartphones have evolved, and with good camera lenses, they can give you what you want. People now use them to engage in photography and pursue their photography dreams until they can get a real camera or a better smartphone.

As a lover of photography, with a smartphone in your hands, you can do wonders. You can capture every moment worth capturing and keep the memories forever fresh. You can also admire nature for its beauty and take pictures of it. These days, you don't need to carry cameras around before you can capture the moment; all you need is your smartphone.

Sometime ago, I visited my mom's small farm, and I saw a frog sitting on a leaf. I decided to test my photography prowess again after a long time, and I realized I still had it. The frog was so cooperative; instead of running away, it was as if it were reading my mind and following instructions, more like it supported my dream. I stretched out a stick, hopped on it, and stayed comfortably; this gave me the chance for a better shot using my smartphone.

    comfortably hopped on the stick.

The encounter with the frog happened sometime last year, but till date I still look at the pictures and feel very proud of myself. It really wasn't easy focusing on the frog and getting a clear shot, as well as trying not to scare it.
