We Saw Sam Hyde Perform

We saw Sam Hyde perform stand-up tonight, and, well...

They say to never meet your idols -- and I am in no way saying that I personally view Hyde as my idol. For God's sake, it's an expression! 😂 If Sam Hyde was my role model, I'd be making some pretty poor decisions in life! 😅

No, Hyde is just a person that I can respect, in some aspects. He has persevered through controversy, his commentary can be funny, his Fishtank reality show is entertaining at times... So my husband and I saw that he was going to be performing in our city; we thought, why not?! 😃 Not every day that such a popular figure comes into town!

Unfortunately Sam's comedy act was not one that we were fully prepared to endure lol... You will not find any videos of his stand-up routine, and there is a good reason for that -- it is way too over the top. I am a huge advocate for comedy, I believe that anything and everything should be joked about. Hyde's act is just plain racism/slander.

So first they had a local comedian open for Sam in "brown face;" his name was Patel Poojah. He was perhaps the most "mild" out of everybody! 😵 There were some r*pe jokes, which is to be expected -- it's not like we can deflect from a very prominent issue in India...

The second comedian was terrible, don't even know his name, can't be bothered. His "big joke" involved Stephen Hawkins showing up for Epstein's Island, and said-comedian and Epstein were trying to make Hawkins "sexy." They were giving him a buzz cut "down to the bone, and still keep going!" He was trying to leave and they "just blocked his joystick with a finger, nah you're not going anywhere 🙂," so then Hawkins "attempted to stand up and started seizuring like crazy!"

Even with the pedophile allegations, the story wasn't funny, it was just disturbing...

The third comedian was Nick Rochefort. I only know him because he's the co-host on Hyde's podcast. He had a few good jokes, but then he started discussing real estate? 🤦 "Yeah so what apps do you guys use for real estate? Realtor.ca?? Yeah I like that one. Zillow sucks!!"

As for the grand finale, the infamous Sam Hyde himself? Uhhh, well, there was a lot of yelling! 😅 And a lot of dry humping the front row (we were seated directly behind them). Like I say, a lot of his stand-up was his truth masked as comedy.

Some of it was funny, based off stereotypes. For example, Hyde reminisced on his toy-building days back at Hasbro. "We made black board games, 'cuz y'know, they don't have a whole lot going on. Like, there was Black Clue; we called it, I Dunno, Probably All of Them. Then there was Black Monopoly, but it was really weird, every space was Go To Jail." And that was all well and good, but he would take it too far with slurs, the N-word, he straight up harassed an Indian person in the crowd for 2 minutes -- "You smell like shit! Kl yourself!!"*

Oh! and I even got a shout-out! 🤪 "This chick in the front row hasn't laughed throughout this entire show."

We ended up leaving early, during another one of his "harassing the audience" bit. And upon leaving, my husband informed me that we had just left a white supremacist event, which is ironic, considering I couldn't help noticing we were sitting in a venue full of "school shooter-looking." He claims that the three men who were sitting behind us were undercover cops; they were all wearing steel-toed boots.

On top of that, my husband ended it with, "I'm really glad we weren't seated in the front row. If he was paying that much attention to you throughout the whole show -- enough to notice that you weren't laughing -- he definitely would have been humping you in the front row. And I would not have been cool with it lol."
