Sunday delivered with some big-time action as I totaled over 25K steps. Of course, it all started at midnight since I was out with the crew at Kings Hall to see DRINKURWATER on his first headline tour. He came on around 1.45am after a fun set from Hekler and kept the bass flowing until nearly 4 in the morning.
The weather after the show was crisp, so I gave my partner my hoodie, and I walked home with her scarf to help me bundle up in my Tshirt. Honestly, it felt nice, and I gotta make sure she stays warm on the walk home, or soon she'll force me to take Ubers as the weather gets colder. I just had to snap off the cover picture of Kamala on the walk home.
Despite setting my alarm, I didn't make it to the pub for the 10am Chelsea match with the NYBlues. Instead, I got to marvel in Cole Palmer's brilliance from the comfort of my own home. His pass sprung the first goal and he coolly scored the second quickly after halftime. Some player he is.
I spent the rest of the day making brunch, meal prepping for the week, and folding laundry. I was lucky to win a ticket giveaway for 2 VIP tickets to see The Chainsmokers play a late night Sunday set. The bus trip to the Brooklyn Navy Yard wasn't too bad for 9pm on a Sunday night, but the 20 minute walk from the stop to the Duggal Greenhouse felt much longer than my typical 20 minute walk home. It must have been because of the severe lack of street art around Downtown Brooklyn. Oh well...
When we finally got to the venue, my partner learned that the headliners wouldn't come on until 1am, instead of 10.30 like she suspected. She immediately bailed and asked me to walk her back to the bus stop. Of course, I obliged to walk her there to make sure she got gome safe, but I went back to the venue for the main attraction -- The Chainsmokers.
People hate on these guys because they are popular mainstream artists, but their sets are always fun for me with plenty of familiar music. I had a blast, but it is time for me to head out since they don't come on until 1am. Until next time...
