Essay for the rain

    Havana, February 5, 2024.

The rain hasn't ceased since I woke up. It's cold, windy, and life tends to change a lot these days. Plans are postponed or replaced by others while we are spectators of the dance of the elements in nature.

I have mostly been silent, but amidst my housework, I decided to capture with my camera what often goes unnoticed.

Seeking to capture moments representing various states of mind, although my own was tied to spiritual pleasure, tranquillity, and reflection, I thought it could be meaningful.

Who knows, perhaps I might learn something new after all.

I am not interested in manipulating my images too much in this essay. You can see it in the first picture, which is a screenshot from my editing program. Only those values approximately for all of them.

My initial impulse was to capture a series of black and white photographs. This was one of my earliest captures.

So, I adjusted the aperture to capture the maximum amount of light and used very high shutter speeds to freeze the movement of the rain. It was then that I realized...

So far, the beauty and the fleeting nature of a minute. But I was possessed. And in the second minute, I shot again.

    And again...

I think I've told you everything. Right? Now I'll take you to the little pine tree where there is supposed to be an angel. You may think I'm ranting...

    Here I heard his voice:

"The fresh, the pure, the lukewarm are kept for you. Never despair."

I smiled and came to tell you.
