Farming has become part of me kind of as i've grown to love the experiences and the profits.
Hola amigos de hive y #weekenexperiences. Me alegra compartir cómo fue mi fin de semana. La agricultura se ha convertido en parte de mí a medida que he llegado a amar las experiencias y las ganancias.
So another opportunity presented itself for me to do what i love,but this time around,it sure came with a new skill for me to learn.
The 'farm-trip' this time around was to harvest and process cassava into 'garri' also called cassava flakes.
I harvested the cassava,peeled, washed it and took it to the mill to grind. After grinding it , I choose to put to practice what I've been watching the guys at the mill do.
I packed the ground cassava into 2 bags (which was what the quantity I processed could contain), the fix them into the 'dewatering machine' still at the mill, to help drain the water out. This was my first time of doing this all by myself and I just couldn't hide the excitement.
Así que se me presentó otra oportunidad para hacer lo que amo, pero esta vez, seguro que vino con una nueva habilidad que debía aprender. El 'viaje a la granja' esta vez fue para cosechar y procesar la yuca en 'garri', también llamado hojuelas de yuca. Coseché la yuca, la pelé, la lavé y la llevé al molino para molerla. Después de molerlo, elijo poner en práctica lo que he estado viendo hacer a los chicos del molino. Empaqué la yuca molida en 2 bolsas (que era lo que podía contener la cantidad que procesé), luego las fijé en la 'máquina deshidratadora' que todavía estaba en el molino, para ayudar a drenar el agua. Esta era la primera vez que hacía esto solo y no podía ocultar la emoción.
The next day the process continued. I brought the drained cassave flour from the mill to the house where it was sieved and then fried to finally get the garri.
Al día siguiente el proceso continuó. Llevé la harina de mandioca escurrida del molino a la casa donde la tamizaban y luego la freían para finalmente obtener el garri.
Apart from the garri, I also made another interesting snacks from the cassava. It is called Tapioca. It is prepared by cutting a peeled cassava tuber into small pieces, boiled and then sliced into mouth-able sizes that could be eaten with fried groundnut,coconut,fish,etc.
Además del garri, también hice otro bocadillo interesante con la yuca. Se llama tapioca. Se prepara cortando un tubérculo de yuca pelado en trozos pequeños, hervido y luego cortado en trozos aptos para la boca que se pueden comer con maní frito, coco, pescado, etc.
So you would agree that it was really a fun- filled and profitable weekend.
