Muse
This post's muse is @kenechukwu97's theme of using music he has heard in most listened YT shorts for his #TTT post. I think this is a fantastic theme as viral memes, shorts and reels are great discovery mechanism for songs both old and new. Hence co-opting the idea for my own #TTT today. Unholy - Sam Smith
Concentrating on songs I was introduced to from viral shorts this is one of the first ones. The song is interesting, dark with a catchy tune and great vocals and arrangement.
Fame - David Bowie and John Lennon
I think I have heard snippets of this tune before but never really heard the song, till some viral shorts popped up around it. Love it ... don't know how I missed listening to it all these years. I particularly like the arrangement again, especially the bass.
Luang Pee Jazz 4G (aka Joking Jazz 4G)
This is a fun one. Looks like it was a soundtrack for what looks like a fun Thai movie made at least 8 years ago. The intro music has become viral with some really fun choreography done around it. And I enjoyed the song too, even though I don't understand Thai. And then I found this video below with subtitles and OMG! the lyrics are hyper topical and very funny for the connected social web world
Do enjoy the music but if possible check out the lyrics too. For eg chorus celebrates/prays the "Venerable 4G" :D
On searching I found mentions of Joking Jazz 5G too. It's alright but not as fun as the 5g one.
Bonus
This one is a viral chorus that's got quite a lot of engineering done on it but it works for choreography. And the chorus is quite catchy too. Rest of the song is pretty ok too :)
