Hello, Hivers! Good day!! @itsmemic once again!
Let me share with you our game, which will serve as our performance for the second semester.
Practice Before the Game
Before the actual game day, we had several practice sessions to get used to playing badminton since most of us were not very familiar with it. While we already had theoretical knowledge about the rules—because this was part of our discussion in class—our main challenge was applying what we learned in an actual game.
What we lacked was the ability to execute the right moves and techniques effectively. That’s why we needed to physically play and practice, so we could familiarize ourselves with different strategies and improve our coordination.
Game Day Preparation
During practice, I wore a dri-fit shirt because it was the ideal type of clothing for sports activities, especially when sweating a lot. (This type of fabric absorbs sweat quickly and keeps the body cool and comfortable, preventing excessive stickiness or discomfort during intense movement.)
We played at Lima Badminton Club in Bogo City, which is a designated badminton court. Our whole section booked the place in advance so we could secure a discount—not just single, but double—since we were students.
Our scheduled game time was at 1 PM, which was the same as our regular class schedule. We made the reservation to ensure that the court wouldn’t be occupied, as it was a popular spot for varsity players and other badminton enthusiasts.
Arriving at the Court
When we arrived at Lima, I immediately changed into my PE uniform since wearing it was a requirement.
However, some of my classmates didn’t change right away. Instead, they took some time to warm up while waiting for others to finish using the restrooms.
The atmosphere inside the court was quite stuffy and warm because it was an enclosed space. According to my classmates, this was actually an advantage since the lack of air movement prevented the shuttlecock from being affected by sudden gusts of wind. (In open areas, even a slight breeze can alter the direction of the shuttlecock, making the game unpredictable.)
The Game Itself
Once everyone was ready, we paired up and started playing. One of our classmates took charge of keeping score. They sat near the net, ensuring they had a clear view of who hit the shuttlecock and who missed.
A Memorable Experience
After an intense match, we gathered for a group photo for documentation purposes. (This was an important part of our performance since we needed proof of participation. Plus, it served as a fun memory of our experience together.)
We took multiple shots—some formal, some candid, and some wacky poses—just to capture the moment.
We had so much fun, and the energy was high throughout the game. (There were moments when we couldn’t stop laughing, especially when someone made a funny mistake or tried an exaggerated move. The friendly competition brought us closer and made the experience more enjoyable.)
It was truly a great day spent with my dear classmates.
And that’s all, Hivers! Thank you for reading!
