Why I Might Think Of Buying Google Drive More Storage Option

I have a potato laptop with only a mere 120GB of storage data, and most of that, which is almost 50GB, is reserved for my C drive, which runs the Windows 10 operating system. Now when I try to create my YouTube videos, which might be even over 1 to 2 hours of content in one file after uploading it to YouTube, I make sure to delete these files on my system to save storage.

Now YouTube channels give the option to download videos for various purposes, such as having a backup on your local harddrive or maybe even uploading it to cloud servers. Now the thing is, what if you get a community guidelines strike or, worse, your channel is hacked and even deleted? Sometimes hacked YouTube channels are lost forever, as even going through some processes that YouTube suggests, you cannot retrieve your YouTube channel.

There was a similar case just recently when the DC official YouTube channel was hacked and information on it was changed, and even that channel was deleted. The DC YouTube channel requested YouTube to reinstate their hacked YouTube channel, and luckily for them, not only was their YouTube channel reinstated to its original format, but also the changes made by the hackers were also reverted back to its roots.

DC is a mainstream company, and its YouTube channel has over a million subscribers, so ofcourse YouTube is going to make sure to not provide them the optimal support it needs for keeping its reputation intact.

You cannot have the same luxury of getting the same sort of support if such an incident happens to you, or maybe even there is a slight chance that you can never recover your YouTube channel after it is hacked and deleted.
Also keep in mind that the YouTube trusted flagger program has ended, where certain individuals could help you out if you sent them a request to reinstate your YouTube channel if it was deleted by hackers.

Now, seeing all of the above scenarios, I recently found out that there is a facility provided by Google called takeout.google.com in which, when you log in with the same email address of your brand YouTube account, you can create a backup of your YouTube channel on your Google Drive account, which is attached to your YouTube brand account.

This is a really good facility that Google provides to its users, as the additional benefits of buying more storage on Google Drive include:

    • You can use the additional Google Drive data to store more emails in your Gmail account.
    • You can use this additional data to save more Google Photos on their cloud server.

Hey, let me know in the comments section below if you have any other easier and cost-effective methods to back up your YouTube channel.
