Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.
I fought an interesting battle where both players used the Chaos Legion legendary summoner Conqueror Jacek. The new Rebellion summoners are very powerful and they are getting much more attention. However, the CL summoners are still fantastic. Conqueror Jacek is still a great card. It gives +2 speed to every unit and there are no other summoners in modern that do this. Avina can do that but just for 2 monsters and Nidhoggr will be able to do the same, but for up to 3 monsters. The Scattershot adds some (or a lot) of RNG, which can hurt or benefit you. It can be very useful against Lily Shieldpaw and against Taunt monsters. It's also fantastic combined with Blast units or the Explosive Weaponry rule set. The Piercing is often not talked about, but it can be the difference between a bunch of wasted attacks removing 1 armor and dealing lethal damage.

This game has the following rule sets: Are You Not Entertained? Fog of War, and FiveAlive. I began with the Weapons Training combination of Grimbardun Smith, Moxian Rebel, and Krash Wanderford. I wanted to take advantage of the Gladiators rule set but with Fog of War, 2 of the best Fire Gladius units were not effective: Fina Voxom and Orella Abadon. Krash isn't hindered by this, so it is the obvious choice. Baron Fyatt and Venka the Vile are my 2 other monsters. They put Antid Platoon in front, followed by Clockwork Aide. The other 3 were ranged units: Drybone Bowdog, Blood Maker, and Rush Townsend.
In the Ambush phase, both their monsters hit Venka and killed it right away. Baron hit Antoid Platoon. Next, my Moxian survived because of a miss and Baron hit their Clockwork Aide, killing it. In round 2, they finished Moxian Rebel but I also took care of their Platoon. I lost Baron in round 3 and killed their Bowdog in the next one. In round 5, I killed the Blood Maker and that left them with just one ranged unit, so the game was over.
I don't think this game was very close. I was very unlucky losing Venka before it attacked because that was one of my biggest threats. However, even with that, the game was always in my control.
What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
