For me, weekends are highly revered and I consider them my sanctuary, so I get to do whatever I choose, wake up late, watch movies, listen to music, write, visit friends and loved ones, anything at all that makes me relax and feel good.
These two days (Saturdays and Sundays) which are not work-related (except on very rare occasions), provides me the opportunity of escape, from the stifling demands of the workweek. I get to be my own boss.
I visited a friend whom I have not seen in weeks because she had been with her mother, nursing her back to health after a long spell in the hospital.
On getting to her house, she invited me to the backyard where she was doing some dirty laundry, I was grateful for that because I needed some fresh and cool breeze, it was hot everywhere and I actually dreaded staying inside the house.
In the warmth of the camaraderie which enveloped us, I was soon able to see the warm Sun filtering through the wrought iron gate protecting her backdoor. It cast a beautiful shadow against the wall that I couldn't resist.
It was a glimpse of the sublime.
This one was not too good but I took a shot of it all the same 😊
