It's a Wrap!
But first, let’s go back to our core mission.
I promised a full report on the event and how it unfolded. This is it. However before going to deep dive into this event, there area some of the things that need to be addressed here especially things pertaining with our main mission when we started the project as the event is garnering more attention after it’s done. So, let’s back up a bit on our core mission.
I have to clarify that the @menulisid team and I wanted to introduce this place as a global gateway for writers; in this case, anyone from Indonesia whose works and hobbies can have their place in the worldwide market. They can connect with people globally and not just regionally. We hope that our information provides a way to upskill their current expertise and those who want to interact globally.
We’d want to show people that they can increase their content distribution and find a place to create so their work isn’t only known regionally but globally. Since that is our core mission, I hope it came across well to our participants, attendees, and anyone reading this report.
In short, where they come from is arbitrary, as we want to foster and keep the idea that HIVE is a borderless place. Where they come from or any of their background doesn’t matter; what matters is their skills wha,t they have to offer to this place and their unique voice that they’ll provide to this space.
After the event, their account is theirs. We do not limit any communities they want to join, as we stick to this chain’s value: freedom. They can be free to do anything they want with their account, join communities, or interact with anyone.
In this report, we also include graphical information about our KPIs, where the registrants come from, their age demographic, and result surveys conducted from our pre-event and post-event.
Our Activities (Online & On-site)
To widen our reach, we also organized an online event: a blogging contest whose participants can be found re-blogging through the @menulisid account. However, before that, we received 65 participants from all across the region in Indonesia. Around 48 of them attended the online technical meeting, and 25 actually participated in the contest and created an HIVE account.
You can watch our video of the online technical meeting on this YouTube channel because at the time, 3speak had an issue.
From that online contest, there were 3 winners and one favourite winner whose works can be found on their respective accounts. Each of these winners received 45 Hive sponsored by @anggreklestari. We also have a total of 600.000 IDR or $36.78 split between 3 winners and one favourite winner who received extra merchandise from us.
It's A Wrap Our Blogging Contest Winners Are Here
After a long decision, they’ve finally come to an agreement, these are the winners of the contest. @husnulmenulisid @anargyaandin & @yogiyudistio and the favorite winner is @aprizayanti86
During this event, this is our reach, especially when it comes to brand awareness gathered from Instagram, as @menulisid is more active there, and there are a sizable number of active people there who can be converted into HIVE or introduced to HIVE, especially for those who aren’t aware of blockchain yet.
Those are some of the samples as there were quite a bit of them and just 4 of them combined, the views are garnering 9k views with quite a bit of ration of those who didn't follow @menulisid instagram. Throughout these there are placement of HIVE website and X account as well as hive name mentioned.
Our offline event
Besides our online event, we also organized an onsite meeting with an HIVE booth and an extra activity, inviting a seasoned journalist from Kompas, an established news network from Indonesia. Inside the event, the participants learned about journalism, the why of writing, and sharing sessions. They also received a scannable QR brochure and materials that they can try joining the event themselves after the event.
The event was organized in Komunitas Coffee and Space in Surabaya, East Java. It was chosen because that was where @menulisid was first established; as our first collaborator, it only fits that it was chosen as our main location. As seen from our data, they also made it to the top three of the region where the participants are from. The video of the event can be seen through this one that was uploaded by @menulisid team.

During the event, @menulisid also sponsored quite a bit of fiat to reward attendees who visited by making some Instagram/TikTok information about the event. The except was like this
An e-wallet worth Rp50,000 for the most creative Reels video content about the Anniversary MenulisID x Hive event.
Two prizes: each winner will receive an e-wallet worth Rp25,000 for creating Instagram Stories about the Tumbuh dari Menulis event, tagging or collaborating with HIVE
This is our analysis of the media, as seen on the Instagram account of @menulisid. I was only sent two of these and this is the compilation.
Above is the data gathered from @menulisid instagram. That is excluding the data from the participants who throughout the event also shared about it.
During the offline event, the participants also requested further information on HIVE. They wanted to get to know it better, especially when they already understood the concept but wanted to delve further. This is a great chance for HIVE to get a larger user base from this region, as HIVE is listed in multiple exchanges in the country.
Our challenges
We met some challenges throughout our event since this is the first of its kind in the country. However, thankfully, they were solved, as the @menulisid team and I were working our best to resolve them.
During our online event, not many understood Web3 or blockchain, so I had to find the best way to explain to them. I also try not to use the word reward but rather “appreciation”, which has a different meaning than “earning”. I know that “earning” sounds sexier. Still, I would instead it being “appreciation” as people’s goal to be a part of a community doesn’t always have to do with money, especially when it comes to writing or channelling one’s hobby.
At the same time, during our contest, some of our participants were still found plagiarizing and using AI, and we sent their work to HW. We want to foster a community where originality and creativity have the utmost place. We do not tolerate abuse and are happy to work with anyone who combats those problems.
Throughout the event, we also discussed the importance of not plagiarizing and using AI. We want to emphasize this concept and foster more creativity and originality.
Data visualization and metrics
In this section, you can find our data visualization from this event. We included “ Conversion Rates”, which are the rates from registration to participation rate and account creation from the participants. We also map out the interest from which region in Indonesia people are interested in our contest and possibly want to learn more about HIVE.

Where do the participants come from?
Although we mentioned that location is arbitrary, these data helps for future events especially targeting these region as they have interests in these contest and also HIVE/WEB3 related events.
How old are the participants ?
Our KPI
In good faith, we certainly want the target to be 100% so it's why we set the 100% target and the actual is in this chart that you can see below :
From this KPI we can infer that there has to be additional engagement and enhancing conversion to account creation.
Since this is an awareness phase and the first event in the country, those are our data that can be gathered and we'll let you be the judge.
Surveys
Pre-event survey
We got 14 replies to this survey and you can see the numbers based on these three formulated questions
Q1: How familiar are you with blockchain technology?
Q2: Have you ever used or interacted with Hive or other blockchain-based platforms before?
Q3: What aspects of Hive would you like to explore further?
Post-event survey
In our post-event survey we also included a free textbox where participants can give us feedback. We got 7 responses from this
Q1 How well do you understand HIVE after participating in the contest and attending this event?
Q2 Are you interested in exploring HIVE?
we got 1 no and 6 yes.
Q3 What suggestions do you have for future Hive events?
These result are roughly translate and verbatim from the survey conducted above.
More time for an explanation of how HIVE works
An independent HIVE event with more booths and in-depth explanations
Perhaps organizing events more frequently and promoting them so more people become aware of HIVE
Hope HIVE becomes even more successful
Hold an event like this again
Create online educational sessions or via Zoom to improve further, let's go, keep up the spirit!
