Today's Evening!

In search of a good evening, today's destination was Hatirjheel, in Bengali it indicates two words elephant and lake together but the irony is there is no elephant to see. But in history, there were elephants that used to stay at another place and were brought here to bathe in the lake and so it was named like this but now it doesn’t have any trace of an elephant. From my childhood whenever I would hear this name I used to imagine elephants along this place, any child would do so.

"ᵂᵒʳᵈˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵖⁱᶜˢ ᵃʳᵉ ᵐⁱⁿᵉ, ᵘⁿˡᵉˢˢ ᴵ ˢʰᵒᵘᵗᵒᵘᵗ ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᶜᵃᵐᵉ ᶠʳᵒᵐ!"

I had never visited this place before today, nothing exceptional, still a place to visit for a little hangout. So here I am today.

Basically, this is a bridge over a lake, not one, there are multiple ones that go with the same name. The lakesides are maintained with care and that's why people do come, sit, and spend some time. There are no alternative places nearby so this one is an ideal one.

It was evening, the sun was about to set, and looking at this scene, it was so astonishing and beautiful to experience.

Also, there were small sitting places and food carts to serve you snacks and juices. There were multiple ones to serve, and also some temporary sellers roaming with their small setups. I tried a lemon mint, it was good, I forgot to take photos as I was getting burnt from the spice that I had eaten before, and drank that in one go.

It was a good evening. I walked there for some time and went back to a few other places, had tea, and stuff like that. A short one yet a refreshing one. For the past few days, it was quite busy and now, this one gave me some refreshments.

    Have a great day,
    Take Care!!
