Desde el año 2005 cada segundo sábado del mes de junio es el día internacional de tejer en público, es un evento maravilloso en donde se reúnen tejedores en diferentes partes del mundo para compartir la pasión por el tejido.

I am very happy and I want to share my joy with you. A moment ago I returned from participating in the event related to the international day of knitting in public.
Since 2005, every second Saturday of June is International Public Knitting Day. It is a wonderful event where weavers in different parts of the world gather to share the passion for weaving.
En mi caso, el evento se realizó en la Plaza de los Palos Grandes, Caracas-Venezuela. el espacio es ideal para este evento, es un sitio muy conocido y de fácil acceso
Me emocionó mucho cuando llegué a la plaza, me detuve a ver la maravilla de ver a tantas personas tejiendo de todas las edades y diferentes sexos, eso es absolutamente maravilloso.

In my case, the event took place in the Plaza de los Palos Grandes, Caracas-Venezuela. The space is ideal for this event, it is a well-known and easily accessible site
I was very excited when I arrived at the square, I stopped to see the wonder of seeing so many people knitting of all ages and different sexes, that is absolutely wonderful.
Me fascina de ver a tantas personas jóvenes tejiendo. He tenido la experiencia de enseñar a tejer a adolescentes y jóvenes adultos, siendo impresionante la habilidad con que aprende y el entusiasmo y determinación con que tejen.
Hoy el evento estaba nutrido de jóvenes aprendiendo, preguntando y nutriéndose de la experiencia de los más expertos.

It fascinates me to see so many young people knitting. I have had the experience of teaching knitting to teenagers and young adults, and the skill with which they learn and the enthusiasm and determination with which they knit are impressive.
Today the event was filled with young people learning, asking questions and drawing on the experience of the most experts.
Y los hombres también se hicieron presente en este día internacional de tejer en público. Cada vez más, los hombres se suman a esta maravillosa experiencia que es tejer y de otras formas de usar la aguja. Eso me parece sumamente conmovedor y adorable.

And men were also present on this international day of knitting in public. More and more, men are joining this wonderful experience of knitting and other ways of using the needle. I find that extremely moving and adorable.
Parte de mi alegría en estos eventos es ver las caras del disfrute del proceso del tejido, me deleité viendo a muchas tejedoras ensimismada en el tejido. Cuan grande es el beneficio de tejer, este es indescriptible.
Esta vez no pude tejer, hoy en la mañana mientras cortaba unos vegetales, me corté el dedo indice izquierdo, la cortada es importante, aún cuando tengo el dedo cubierto con gasa no quería lastimarme con algún movimiento con el ganchillo. Cualquier movimiento o tropiezo me hace sangrar.

Part of my joy at these events is seeing the faces enjoying the weaving process, I was delighted to see many weavers engrossed in the weaving. How great the benefit of knitting is, it is indescribable.
This time I couldn't knit, this morning while I was cutting some vegetables, I cut my left index finger, the cut is important, even though I have the finger covered with gauze I didn't want to hurt myself with some movement with the crochet hook. Any movement or stumble makes me bleed.
El día internacional del tejido también es un espacio de reencuentro de tejedoras con lo cual se entabla una amistad. Y como es costumbre todos los años me reencuentro con dos grandes tejedoras, nos conocimos hace seis años en un encuentro como este. Me da mucha alegría verles.

International Weaving Day is also a meeting place for weavers, through which friendship is established. And as is customary, every year I meet again with two great weavers, we met six years ago at a meeting like this. It makes me very happy to see you.
