Happy new week everyone. Brother Eli takes us on an amazing teaching was again. Being a Christian means exhibiting the nature of Christ. When we call ourselves Christians, it simply means that our nature is not the same with those in the world. An important thing someone should know is his identity. So what then is that identity of we Christians?
Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
When people look at us they are expected to see the nature of Christ because we are created in His image. It's just like looking at a child and being able to tell who the father is because of the resemblance.
However, it doesn't just have to do with physical attributes alone, it also has to do with our behavioural traits. That's why the bible said we were created in His "likeness" as well. This means our behaviours are likened to His as well. We are supposed to take after Him because He is our father.
We should not struggle to behave like Christ. When we became Christians, His nature was been birthed into us. The former nature we had in us was been given up. By the virtue of we being Christians, we become God's children. A being can only reproduce what is like him.
