Buen día amigos de Hive Arte, ¿Cómo les va? Esta vez vengo con un atrevimiento artístico que espero les guste y no decepcionarlos, jaja. Tuve la posibilidad de encontrar en mis manos unos palillos de batería, baquetas digamosle. Están usadas y una de ellas se rompió en la punta de acrílico, pero de igual manera la madera es un material hermoso para dibujar en ella. Sentí el llamado de intervenir con un poco de arte y dejar volar mi mano y mi imaginación para explorar también aspectos creativos sobre cualquier superficie.

Good morning friends of Hive Arte, how are you doing? This time I come with an artistic daring that I hope you like and not disappoint you, haha. I had the chance to find in my hands some drumsticks, drumsticks let's say. They are used and one of them broke at the acrylic tip, but still wood is a beautiful material to draw on. I felt the call to intervene with some art and let my hand and imagination fly to explore creative aspects on any surface as well.

Dado que tengo algunos marcadores de buena calidad, elegí usar el de color negro para hacer algunas líneas, no sin antes hacer un boceto en lápiz. Estuve mirando algunas imágenes de arte maori y me pareció ideal ya que el dibujo de igual manera no es para lucir en su uso, sino más bien para decorar un objeto que era ya inutilizable (y aprovechar para practicar líneas sobre un objeto redondeado)

Since I have some good quality markers, I chose to use the black one to make some lines, but not before making a pencil sketch. I was looking at some images of Maori art and I found it ideal since the drawing is not to show off in its use, but rather to decorate an object that was already unusable (and take advantage to practice lines on a rounded object).

La parte circular central me dio un poco más de miedo, que quedase mal o no se entendiera que el dibujo era una especie de sol tribal. Pero el resto estaba claro, iba a improvisar líneas, algunas sombras, puntos y triángulos. El ejercicio que me puse era bastante desafiante y fui avanzando con seguridad.

The central circular part gave me a little more fear, that it would look bad or would not be understood that the drawing was a kind of tribal sun. But the rest was clear, I was going to improvise lines, some shadows, dots and triangles. The exercise I set myself was quite challenging and I moved forward with confidence.

Creo que hacer un trazo seguro es la diferencia, por eso realicé algunas líneas en lápiz primero. Logrado esto empecé a dibujar con firmeza con el marcador. Algunas líneas bastaron para que empezara a verle forma y sentido al dibujo completo.

I think that making a confident stroke is the difference, so I made some pencil lines first. Once that was done, I began to draw firmly with the marker. A few lines were enough for me to begin to see the shape and sense of the whole drawing.

Continué con otro marcador negro un poco más ancho para darle otro volumen a los bordes sin tener que hacer varios trazos con el más finito, que ya estaba empezando a pifiarle en algunos costaditos 🤭

Fui separando, girando y probando si el dibujo era correlativo de un palillo al otro, y logré mejorar aquellos bordecitos que parecían perderse en la curvatura. Buscando y logrando sentirme conforme, avancé y gané unos puntos de confianza con esta actividad

I was separating, turning and testing if the drawing was correlative from one stick to the other, and I managed to improve those little edges that seemed to get lost in the curvature. Searching and feeling satisfied, I advanced and gained some confidence points with this activity.

Aunque considero haber dejado el trabajo terminado, me gustaría poder darle una mano de barniz, pero ahora mismo no tengo, quizás solo los guarde como recuerdo o quizás algún día pueda barnizarlos y colgarlos en alguna pared para decorar y darle mi toque especial a mis espacios.

Although I consider my work finished, I would like to give it a coat of varnish, but right now I don't have it, maybe I will just keep them as a souvenir or maybe someday I can varnish them and hang them on a wall to decorate and give my special touch to my spaces.
Espero que te haya gustado esta publicación tanto como a mí me entretuvo y me encantó improvisar sobre este material. Nunca antes se me había ocurrido hacer algo así, pero siempre usé objetos que estaban para descartar o tirar, y darles una vida nueva, decorativa e interesante. Con una historia que no acaba con la usabilidad real del objeto en el pasado.

I hope you liked this post as much as I enjoyed it and I loved improvising on this material. It had never occurred to me before to do something like this, but I always used objects that were to discard or throw away, and give them a new, decorative and interesting life.
