Step by step process and the different ways to prepare Bambaranut nut meals from our Harvested Nuts.

    Hello Hive

Here are some of the Bambaranut we harvested from our farms last year. They are one of the grains we also grow on our farms, even though we didn't grow this in a large quantity last year like before. And like I said before, it is one of the nuts that are very rich in protein, just like peas. Instead of growing and eating only corn and cassava, it will be good if people around here also look into growing proteinous grains such as this. You get the necessary proteins.

Today I will be sharing with us how I prepared some delicacies of the nut harvest.

The nuts can be eaten raw when newly harvested and the pods aren't dried and strong. Drying is one method we use to preserve the nuts.

As soon as the nuts get dried, you can choose to roast them over flame here and eat directly with palm oil.

Here I simply wash the grains of dirt and roast it in a frying pan over dry heat.

I trust that not many people here are familiar with Bambaranut pudding. In the very same way we prepare bean pudding, we also prepare Bambaranut pudding.

First we grind the nuts into fine flour and filter out dirt.

Then we get the following ingredients and spices:

    • Palm oil

    • Salt and Seasoning

    • Big ball pepper and spring onions

First you pour out the flour in a container, add the seasonings and salt, spring onions, and blended bell pepper

Next we mix this with a little water gradually before adding very well melted oil. After a good second mixing, we can then tie them up in bits inside nylon and then place them in boiling water to cook for at least 30-45 mins. It takes that much time.

You can choose to eat the meal with pap, custard, or water, or a suitable drink. This is definitely one of our favorite local dishes that my family does not joke with, and you will understand just how much we enjoyed this when I prepared it for the family yesterday. I almost forgot to take the picture of the final meal as we were all famished when this got ready. It was when the food almost ran out that I remembered I had plans to blog about them.
