Today, I'll be sharing a battle that is both epic and shareworthy. It was in the Silver League I and with another few wins I would've been in the Silver II league. Because it had such a high ranking, the monster's levels were no longer capped and hence I had an amazing match with an equally capable opponent.

    Without further ado, let's begin.

    Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 43 and there were 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Water, Life, and Death. Naturally, I flocked toward Death Summoner since I had the perfect combo of attackers and defenders set in mind. But, anyone could chalk up excellent decks in either of the summoners available.

    Battle Rules-

    • Heavy Hitters: All monsters have the knock-out ability.
    • Melee Mayhem: All melee monsters can attack from any position.

    Battle Details

    Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters).

    Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Self-Heal).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralixe, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple), Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity, Demoralize).

Ranged Attackers: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike, Deathblow).

My strategy was to have the most amount of melee attackers, that way I could truly boost up my damage per round. Then, I wanted the opposition's melee attackers' damage to be reduced by 2. I kept a monster with the shield ability to reduce the amount of damage received from the back of my deck. I kept Windeku at the forefront to absorb all the melee attackers' and ranged attackers' damage as it could self-heal. Arachne Thug would attack from behind the tank, Sha-vi would attack from the enemy's back line, and Stalker would strike his tank just like most other melee attackers.

The overall damage per round is 17 damage and 3 healing with a potential reduction in damage by 5. Adding in damage from Thorns damage, it comes to 19 per round.

    Now for the opposition's turn:

Summoner: Grum Flameblade(Ability: Bloodlust, Void Armour).

Melee attackers: Radiated Brute(Ability: Reach),, Tenyii Striker(Ability: Sneak, Dodge), Fina Voxom(Ability: Opportunity, Bloodlust), Dumacke Orc(Ability: Shield, Retaliate).

    Ranged Attackers: Firecaller(Ability: Martyr).

His strategy was to make sure that his key monster, Fina would get a kill and trigger bloodlust and increase its overall stats. He kept his judgment enforcer(tank) at the forefront as it had the highest HP. He kept Firecaller behind Fina as he suspected that I would have monsters that might try and pry from the back of his deck. He also kept his Brute behind his tank to further damage my tank and Striker to strike me from the end of my deck.

His overall damage per round was 18 per round. Should the martyr effect go off, his overall damage would decrease by 1. Should he trigger bloodlust, it would increase by 1 until it gets more kills by the bloodthirsty monsters.

    Major Events

    Screenshot (424).png

His overall damage was decreased by 10 to an aggregate of 9 thanks to double demoralize ability. The first monster to fall was his first bloodthirsty monster by the end of the first round.

The second monster to fall was his Brute while his Orc's shield was stripped off its shield.

Soon after, Tenyii Striker joined its fallen friends while my Windeku's HP increased by 2.

    Screenshot (427).png

His Orc and Firecaller fell at the start of the 3rd round so his only bloodthirsty monster got the martyr effect and hence it gets a boost on all stats.

And finally, his only monster fell after it hit the forbidden monster, my Windeku. Thus, he got hit with the thorns.

    Results

The battle ended before it even began as the demoralize ability triggered twice, removing 10 damage per round for him. If only he had used Tarsa as a summoner, that would've increased his damage by 1 for all ally melee monsters, meaning it would've increased his damage by 5 but he went for the bloodthirsty monsters and paid for it in RP.
