It is a common thing amongst men, even if some would not confess it, to want to be treated to something. And some lucky few have got someone to do just that. Sometimes, @octocel is the one to get the coffee or food. She always makes some witty remark about the whole deal. But I wonder if buying your boyfriend, partner, or any word you use for it, something like a coffee or lunch makes a woman feel empowered in some way.
I don't mind the idea of getting something like that. I bet there are some me who have never been treated to anything in their lives. That's a tough reality that might be enshrined in the whole gender-role mindset, but it is really a nonsense idea in this modern world.
Let me not get into some social debate by talking about the whole deal of getting a coffee and some biscuits. On that day, we were talking about the many names such a thing like biscuits get around here. There are a lot. One of them is "cat's tongue". I don't know if that is a Venezuelan thing or what. I just remember them being called "templates". That one makes more sense as it is related to the mold used to form these biscuits.
And as usual, some of our order was already taken into consideration before even ordering. Black coffee at that bakery is just really good. So, why try to get something different. Unless, we are celebrating.
While we are having the coffee, we take all the time to catch up on our weekly projects and talk about some common plans that might come sooner or later. And of course, we take our time to interrupt one another with some witty and flirtatious commentaries to make us forget what we were saying. That's a favorite activity on the coffee table.
Also, when we have something to dip into the coffee, we always do. For some people this is disgusting. It is like that theory of eating olives or not and your partner liking or not them. In this case, we don't mind doing this. We have seen it and acknowledge we both like dipping desserts or bread into coffee. Sharing coffee with someone you like is amazing, but dipping stuff into your coffee and knowing your special person does it too; well, that's like a declaration of love!
Love shared through cups of coffee!
