This trip marked a bittersweet milestone for us as parents—our first international adventure without our little princess, Zadie. Thailand welcomed us with its vibrant streets, friendly smiles, and delicious aromas wafting from every corner.
The first day felt a little strange without Zadie by our side. We found ourselves pointing out sights and thinking how much she would love them. The bustling streets of Bangkok were fascinating, yet we couldn’t help but miss her giggles and curious questions.
Dinner that evening was a memorable introduction to authentic Thai cuisine. We shared a steaming plate of Pad Thai, perfectly balanced with sweet, sour, and savory flavors, and warmed up with a bowl of Tom Yum soup, its tangy and spicy kick awakening our senses. It was a reminder of why we had chosen this destination: to explore and reconnect while experiencing something new together.
Though we missed Zadie terribly, we reminded ourselves this trip was also about making space for us as a couple—a chance to bond and recharge. Day one was only the beginning of a journey that promised more discoveries, flavors, and a little bit of rediscovery of ourselves.
Thailand, you’ve already left an impression, and we can’t wait to see what the next days hold!
