A more relaxed entry for Friday. In the last two texts about DB, I mentioned fan manga in this universe. In this text I want to focus on two of them. The ones I consider the best. There are probably others that are equally good (for example DB Multiverse, those by the man who created That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha), but I don't know them because I've never been interested in this topic. The two titles I have already mentioned are well known in the fandom. DB MV was the most popular fan manga (or at least it was in my information bubble and the Internet - I discovered it while browsing the foreign Internet), and the comic by Dragongarow Lee was officially released. The ones I'm talking about today are also quite popular, but I don't come across them that often when browsing through various discussions.
Why did I choose them? Thanks to Adacho and his discussions on the YouTube channel. He reviews various fan mangas, most of which I find weak or mediocre. They are too repetitive, too unoriginal, the creators do not use the full potential of the lore and are not creative. Not all comics can be criticized for this, some are a bit better, others less bad. In fact, as a bonus comic, I can also recommend DB Sai, written by... Dragongarow Lee xD. I seriously forgot and now I'm not surprised that it's as good as DB New Hope and DB Kakumei.

DB Sai tells an alternate version of the story. Instead of Goku, Vegeta ends up on Earth. The Saiyan Prince may not be a completely positive character, but he is far from the bad person he has been for a long time. His story is more or less the same as Goku's, but with some changes. These are not very big, they mainly serve to prevent us from getting bored watching the same story over and over again. DB fans are particularly familiar with this problem, as long as they play games devoted to this universe (apart from fighting games, each summarizes the comic book or faithfully follows its events). The author knows this world very well. This can be seen in the fact that he remembers every detail, even those that even I or the fandom have forgotten. The fights are spectacular (Evil Goku who came to Earth is IMO much cooler than Black Goku), the dialogues are funny, and the gags with young Vegeta are even better than in the case of Goku.

DB New Hope is a title intended primarily for Krillan fans. The plot of this comic presents alternative events. What if Cell had killed Gohan and the rest of the Z Fighters during the Cell Games, sparing only the bald monk? Terrible drama. The plot goes beyond this stage and we get plots that we know from movies (those lasting an hour or a little longer - I'm talking about a dozen or so movies). However, I won't talk about it to avoid spoilers. Not really a thread about Krillan. It's too good to spoil your experience! If I don't like Baldy, why do I recommend this comic? Because it perfectly uses and develops the lore, especially the part that I have mentioned many times - the times of the first series. We see a lot of references to Tienshinhan, Chiaotsu and their trainer (the creator of the levitation technique, one of the most important for our heroes). The author literally bends over backwards to strengthen Goku's first rival as much as possible. Krillan gives over 100% of his power in the fight against Cell and is ready for even more. Even I shed a tear of emotion seeing how hard he was trying. The rest of the comic is also up to par, but the first arc is the best IMO.

DB Kakumei is the only one of these titles that is a direct continuation of DB Super and the movie DBS Broly. This is probably the prettiest fanmanga I've ever seen. The drawings are made by a boy who passed his high school final exams last year (or this year). You may be as ignorant in this matter as I am, but even I find it hard not to appreciate his talent. A huge advantage of Kakumei is that Goku was blocked right before the very beginning of the story and we hardly see him at all. He will definitely appear in the future, after all he is the protagonist, but now he would only take up space from the side characters (who are developed even better than in DBS). Besides, did you also talk when you were younger or on the Internet that it would be nice to see at least one arc without his participation? If so, your dreams will come true in this comic. I can say as an exception that I am up to date with this comic, and Goku is still not an active hero of this story. And there is something to see! The authors of Kakumei know the universe very well and know what the fans expect. Not only in terms of brutal, bloody fights, but also in terms of showing something new. Something that won't be another type of KI energy, a new form of control. No no no! Here we see the technology of the Tsufulians, Saiyans from the second universe. Even Bulma and her capsules were used quite sensibly.

Taki luźniejszy wpis na piątek. W dwóch ostatnich tekstach o DB, wspominałem o fanowskich mangach w tym uniwersum. W tym tekście chcę się skupić na dwóch z nich. Tych które uważam za najlepsze. Zapewne istnieją inne, równie dobre (ot chociażby DB Multiverse te autorstwa pana, który stworzył m.in. That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha), ale nie znam ich, bo nigdy się nie interesowałem tym tematem. Dwa tytuły o których już wspomniałem są dobrze znane w fandomie. DB MV było najpopularniejszą fanowską mangą (a przynajmniej tak było w mojej bańce informacyjnej i internecie - poznałem ją przeglądając zagraniczny internet), zaś komiks autorstwa Dragongarow Lee został oficjalnie wydany. Te o których dzisiaj raczej też są popularne, ale nie spotykam ich tak często przeglądając różne dyskusje.
Dlaczego je wybrałem? Dzięki Adacho i jego omówieniom na kanale YouTube. Robi omówienia różnych fanowskich mang, większość z nich uważam za słabe lub przeciętne. Są za bardzo powtarzalne, zbyt mało oryginalne, twórcy nie wykorzystują pełnego potencjału lore oraz nie są kreatywni. Nie wszystkim komiksom można to zarzucić, niektóre są trochę lepsze, inne mniej złe. W sumie jako bonusowy komiks, mogę polecić również DB Sai, którego autorem jest... Dragongarow Lee xD. Serio zapomniałem i teraz nie dziwię się, że jest równie dobry co DB New Hope i DB Kakumei.

DB Sai opowiada alternatywną wersję historii. Zamiast Goku, na Ziemię trafia Vegeta. Książę Saiyan może nie jest w pełni pozytywną postacią, ale daleko mu do złej osoby, jaką był przez długi czas. Jego historia jest mniej więcej taka sama jak u Goku, ale z pewnymi zmianami. Te nie są bardzo duże, służą głównie temu byśmy się nie nudzili oglądaniem po raz kolejny tej samej historii. Fani DB szczególnie dobrze znają ten problem, o ile grają w gry poświęcone temu uniwersum (pomijając bijatyki, każda streszcza komiks lub wiernie podąża za jego wydarzeniami). Autor bardzo dobrze zna ten świat. Widać to po tym, że pamięta każdy detal, nawet takie o którym nawet ja zdążyłem zapomnieć lub fandom. Walki są efektowne (Evil Goku, który przybył na Ziemię jest IMO znacznie fajniejszy niż Black Goku), dialogi zabawne, a gagi z młodym Vegetą są jeszcze lepsze niż w przypadku Goku.

DB New Hope to tytuł przeznaczony przede wszystkim dla fanów Krillana. Fabuła tego komiksu prezentuje alternatywne wydarzenia. Co by było gdyby Cell zabił Gohana i resztę wojowników Z podczas Cell Games, oszczędzając tylko łysego mnicha? Straszny dramat. Fabuła wykracza poza ten etap i dostajemy wątki, które znamy chociażby z filmów (tych trwających godzinę lub nieco dłużej - mówię o tych kilkunastu filmach). Nie będę o tym jednak mówił, by nie spoilerować. Wątku dotyczącego Krillana w sumie też nie. Jest zbyt dobry by Wam psuć wrażenia! Skoro nie lubię Łysego, to dlaczego polecam ten komiks? Bo doskonale wykorzystuje i rozwija lore, a zwłaszcza tę część, o której niejednokrotnie wspominałem - czasy pierwszej serii. Widzimy tam dużo nawiązań do Tienshinhana, Chiaotsu i ich trenera (twórcy techniki lewitacji, jednej z najważniejszych dla naszych bohaterów). Autor dosłownie staje na rzęsach, by jak najbardziej wzmocnić pierwszego rywala Goku. Krillan w walce z Cellem daje z siebie ponad 100% mocy i jest gotowy na jeszcze więcej. Nawet ja uroniłem łzę wzruszenia widząc, jak bardzo się stara. Reszta komiksu też trzyma poziom, ale pierwszy arc jest IMO najlepszy.

DB Kakumei jako jedyny z tych tytułów, jest bezpośrednią kontynuacją DB Super oraz filmu DBS Broly. Jest to chyba najładniejsza fanmanga jaką widziałem. Za rysunki odpowiada chłopak, który rok temu (albo w tym roku) zdał maturę. Można być ignorantem w tej materii, jak ja, ale nawet mi trudno nie docenić jego talentu. Olbrzymim plusem Kakumei jest to, że Goku został zablokowany tuż przed samym początkiem historii i nie widzimy go prawie w ogóle. W przyszłości na pewno się pojawi, w końcu to protagonista, ale teraz zabierałby jedynie miejsce postaciom pobocznym (które są rozwijane jeszcze fajniej niż w DBS). Poza tym, czy Wy też gadaliście za młodu lub w internecie, że fajnie byłoby zobaczyć chociaż jeden arc bez jego udziału? Jeśli tak, to w tym komiksie Wasze marzenia się ziszczą. Wyjątkowo mogę zaspoilerować, że jestem z tym komiksem na bieżąco, a Goku nadal nie jest aktywnym bohaterem tej historii. A jest na co popatrzeć! Autorzy Kakumei bardzo dobrze znają uniwersum i dobrze wiedzą, jakie oczekiwania mają fani. Nie tylko w kwestii brutalnych, krwawych walk, ale też pokazania czegoś nowego. Czegoś co nie będzie innym typem energii KI, nową formą kontroli. Nie nie nie! Widzimy tu technologię Tsufulian, Saiyan z drugiego wszechświata. Nawet Bulma i jej kapsułki zostały całkiem sensownie wykorzystane.
