"IF I FALTER"
If I falter
open wide, allow me
to crumble into fine strains
of nothingness
stepping from the coolness of tranquility
onto flames of coals and desire.
If I falter
release the shackles that have tethered me
to the universe.
for beyond this realm,
I'm summoned.
If I falter
ease the pain of daggers
I've left strewn about
my life from the beginning
to the shadows
where I can confide
My pain.
Where He is waiting for me
to confess my sins
that I've done all wrong
in this world.
Nothing left to do but
Repent.
After I falter.
For my current mixed media art project, I wanted to share a poem that reflects on the thoughts of imperfection and redemption. A person who yearns for release from the pain of wrongdoing knowing full well the circumstances.
I created the project utilizing various filters and backgrounds. My design program is Canva. My filtering program is Deep Dream Generator. For the background, I used one of Canva's, free images.
I began with the free-sourced image of a female surrounded by time.

Next, in Deep Dream Generator, I located a beautiful and ethereal filter image and ran it on the photo. The result of the filtered image looked as if the female is floating aimlessly in the universe in a timeless maze. The filter deepened the eye color.
Below is my result:
To complete my project, I uploaded all into Canva to blend the images. Placing the female in a frame worked well for this project.
I chose a completely different green color pallet and symmetrical design for the frame as a way to enhance the coloring of the image. The frame was courtesy of Canva in my upgraded Annual Pro Membership Subscription. I duplicated the frame to that a shape could emerge as the background to hold the female image.
