Hi everyone, I'm Lorentm, a passionate digital artist, and today I want to share with you my latest creation for the Splinterlands social media initiative. As many of you know, every week I participate in this exciting section, and this time I decided to give a special touch to a character I had already worked on before: the "Goblin Thief". But this time, I did it in anime style, a style that I love and I know many of you do too.
Goblins have a particular reputation: thievery is almost second nature to them. But in Gobson City, they rarely steal from each other. Instead, Goblin Thieves venture through the Shard, patrolling the roads and raiding caravans. They are easy to recognize by their heavy clothing, which conceals a multitude of knives and other weapons. Don't worry too much, however, as these knives are more a tool of terror than of mutilation.
The Goblin Thief is short in stature, barely reaching the height of a human child. His skin is an olive green, allowing him to camouflage perfectly with the vegetation of the forest. His eyes, small and bright, are always alert. The shrewd gaze he possesses reveals his cunning nature and his ability to detect the most subtle opportunities for theft.
Its pointed ears stand up like antennae, picking up even the faintest sounds: the rustle of a branch, the whisper of the wind or the clink of coins in a nearby bag. The Goblin Thief's hands are nimble and deft, perfect tools for his art of theft.
In my illustration, I wanted to capture the Goblin Thief in action. He is crouched down, hidden in the shadows of a cave. His forward leaning body shows his readiness to jump or dodge any threat. The lamp he holds in his right hand emits a dim light, but enough to illuminate his immediate surroundings. The flames flicker, creating dancing shadows on his face, adding a touch of mystery to his figure.
On his back hangs a worn leather pouch, filled with stolen treasures. Coins, gems and other shiny objects peek through the opening, ready to be hidden or used in his next coup. The smile on his face is mischievous and defiant, a sign of his confidence as the master of shadows and master of stealth. His eyes scan the environment, always looking for any hint of danger or wealth.
I hope you enjoy creating this character as much as I did. The anime style has given a new life to the Goblin Thief, highlighting his cunning and his ability to move in the shadows. Thank you for following my work and for the constant support in this artistic adventure!

Como muchos saben, cada semana participo en esta emocionante sección, y esta vez decidí darle un toque especial a un personaje que ya había trabajado antes: el "Goblin Thief". Pero esta vez, lo hice al estilo anime, un estilo que me encanta y que sé que a muchos de ustedes también.
Los Goblins tienen una fama particular: el robo es casi una segunda naturaleza para ellos. Pero en la ciudad de Gobson, rara vez se roban entre sí. En su lugar, los Ladrones Goblin se aventuran por la Esquirla, patrullando las carreteras y asaltando caravanas. Son fáciles de reconocer por sus pesadas ropas, que esconden una multitud de cuchillos y otras armas. En mi ilustración, he querido capturar al Goblin Thief en plena acción. Está agachado, oculto entre las sombras de una cueva. Su cuerpo inclinado hacia adelante muestra su preparación para saltar o esquivar cualquier amenaza. La lámpara que sostiene en su mano derecha emite una luz tenue, pero suficiente para iluminar su entorno inmediato. Las llamas parpadean, creando sombras danzantes en su rostro, añadiendo un toque de misterio a su figura.
En su espalda cuelga una bolsa de cuero desgastada, llena de tesoros robados. Monedas, gemas y otros objetos brillantes asoman por la abertura, listos para ser escondidos o utilizados en su próximo golpe. La sonrisa en su rostro es maliciosa y desafiante, una muestra de su confianza como el amo de las sombras y maestro del sigilo. Sus ojos escudriñan el entorno, siempre buscando cualquier indicio de peligro o de riqueza.

Thieving comes naturally to most Goblins, but they rarely steal from one another in the city of Gobson. Instead, Goblin Thieves travel the Splinter, patrolling highways and raiding caravans. Thieves can usually be recognized by their heavy clothing, under which they conceal numerous knives and other weapons. But don't worry. Their blades are used more to terrorize than to mutilate.
Robar es algo natural para la mayoría de los Goblins, pero rara vez se roban unos a otros en la ciudad de Gobson. En su lugar, los Ladrones Goblin viajan por la Esquirla, patrullando carreteras y asaltando caravanas. Los ladrones suelen reconocerse por sus pesadas ropas, bajo las que ocultan numerosos cuchillos y otras armas. Pero no te preocupes. Sus cuchillos se usan más para aterrorizar que para mutilar.
Process / Proceso
For the creation of the digital drawing of the "Goblin Thief" in anime style, I started with the fundamental process of any illustration: the sketch. With my graphics tablet, I made light, loose strokes to capture the character's pose and attitude. I imagined the Goblin Thief crouched down, hiding in a cave, ready to pounce at any moment. This initial sketch is essential for establishing composition and perspective, so I made sure to spend time getting every detail in place.
Once satisfied with the sketch, I proceeded to outlining. Here, I switched to a finer brush and began to go over the lines of the sketch more precisely. This step is crucial because it defines the contours of the character and the main elements, such as the lamp, the leather bag and, of course, the sly expression on the Goblin Thief's face. I made sure to maintain the fluidity of the lines, something characteristic of the anime style, to give life and dynamism to the character.
With the outline complete, the next step was coloring. I chose a color palette that highlighted the Goblin Thief's characteristics. His olive green skin had to contrast with the vegetation of the forest and the shadows of the cave. I used bright but balanced colors for his clothing, and metallic tones for the weapons hidden under his clothes. I paid special attention to the eyes, making them small and bright, always alert, which helps to convey his cunning and crafty nature.
After applying the base colors, it was time to add shadows and shimmers to give depth and realism to the illustration. I used a soft brush to shade the areas where the light from the lamp would not reach, such as her lower body and behind objects. The shadows give the illusion of volume and make the character seem more tangible. The glows, on the other hand, I applied them to the areas that would reflect the light from the lamp, such as the gems in her bag and the edges of her clothing. These twinkling lights added a touch of magic and dynamism to the drawing.
Finally, I took a moment to go over all the details and adjust any areas that needed it. I wanted to make sure the illustration captured the essence of the Goblin Thief: his cunning, his ability to move in the shadows, and his defiant nature. Every shadow, every glow and every line had to contribute to this narrative.
The end result was an illustration that not only depicts the Goblin Thief in his natural environment, but also highlights his personality and abilities in a vibrant and dynamic way, true to the anime style that I am so passionate about.
Para la creación del dibujo digital del "Goblin Thief" al estilo anime, comencé con el proceso fundamental de cualquier ilustración: el boceto. Con mi tableta gráfica, hice trazos ligeros y sueltos para capturar la pose y la actitud del personaje. Imaginé al Goblin Thief agachado, oculto en una cueva, listo para saltar en cualquier momento. Este boceto inicial es esencial para establecer la composición y la perspectiva, así que me aseguré de dedicarle tiempo para que cada detalle estuviera en su lugar.
Una vez satisfecho con el boceto, procedí al delineado. Aquí, cambié a un pincel más fino y empecé a repasar las líneas del boceto con mayor precisión. Este paso es crucial porque define los contornos del personaje y los elementos principales, como la lámpara, la bolsa de cuero y, por supuesto, la expresión astuta en el rostro del Goblin Thief. Me aseguré de mantener la fluidez de las líneas, algo característico del estilo anime, para dar vida y dinamismo al personaje.
Con el delineado completo, el siguiente paso fue el coloreado. Elegí una paleta de colores que destacara las características del Goblin Thief. Su piel de un verde oliva debía contrastar con la vegetación del bosque y las sombras de la cueva. Utilicé colores vivos pero equilibrados para su vestimenta, y tonos metálicos para las armas ocultas bajo sus ropas. Presté especial atención a los ojos, haciéndolos pequeños y brillantes, siempre alerta, lo que ayuda a transmitir su naturaleza ladina y astuta.
Después de aplicar los colores base, era momento de añadir sombras y brillos para dar profundidad y realismo a la ilustración. Utilicé un pincel suave para sombrear las áreas donde la luz de la lámpara no alcanzaría, como la parte inferior de su cuerpo y detrás de los objetos. Las sombras dan la ilusión de volumen y hacen que el personaje parezca más tangible. Los brillos, por otro lado, los apliqué en las zonas que reflejarían la luz de la lámpara, como las gemas en su bolsa y los bordes de su ropa. Estas luces parpadeantes añadieron un toque de magia y dinamismo al dibujo.
Finalmente, me tomé un momento para revisar todos los detalles y ajustar cualquier área que lo necesitara. Quería asegurarme de que la ilustración capturara la esencia del Goblin Thief: su astucia, su habilidad para moverse en las sombras y su naturaleza desafiante. Cada sombra, cada brillo y cada línea debía contribuir a esta narrativa.
El resultado final fue una ilustración que no solo representa al Goblin Thief en su entorno natural, sino que también resalta su personalidad y habilidades de una manera vibrante y dinámica, fiel al estilo anime que tanto me apasiona.
