The grass is not greener on the other side.

There is a popular saying that charity begins at home. Research has shown that there are still 58 percent of the planet that has not been explored yet.
Millions of dollars of been spent to find out with the other planets apart from hits is habitable. Millions more are being spent to make a specific planet suitable for life. But is that really necessary?

Research has proved that just 10 percent of the earth’s land mass has been occupied and utilized by man. Don’t get it wrong though. “Utilized” means the land mass that has been cultivated, developed with buildings, road, amenities. A large mass has been visited by humans, but relatively small has been explored.
It will certainly not be possible to occupy completely the whole earth. As more places are being inhabited, more places are deserted. So we are not done with our planet. There are lands and seas to be explored, there are hills and mountains. The question is, “Why are we expanding our horizon unnecessarily?” And if we want to explore so much, why not places that have had so little human interaction? Why the need to go all outside the planet?

Besides, many have no idea just what is there to explore on planet earth. Let me delight you with the following amazing facts.

    1. Did you know that there are over 7,500 apples in the world? That means if you eat a new type of apple a day, it will take you over 22 years to eat them all! Does that not intrigue you? How many varieties have you eaten?
    2. Do you know that Australia is wider than the the moon? The diameter of the moon is 3,400 kilometers while Australia’s diameter from East to west is almost 4,000 kilometers. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it is true.
    3. The human body is intricately and intelligently designed. Even if humans are to spend their lives understanding all the makeup of the body, it will be an unending exploration. Is it our brain capacity? Our perfectly designed body system? Our ability to feel different emotions? There is always a new source of wonderment about our body system.
    4. How about the vast wild and ocean life? It might interest you to know that most of the inventions we have today are what we will call mimics of nature? Technology, science and cures have mostly been inspired by Mother Earth.

In my own conclusion which I have made according to facts and what is obvious, there is still more to explore on our planet. And it is just not possible for this exploration to come to an end. We can spend our whole lives enjoying the beauty and diversity of the planet and it will be an interesting adventure. The previous generation did explorations, we are doing and the next generation will continue. It will always be an ongoing process.

Furthermore, compared to other places we go to for exploration, the earth still holds more for us to discover than any other place. We might just take it for grated because we have been here for long. We are curious about what lies in the other planets, hence we tend to forget what we have in ours.

There is no use of spending millions to make a planet habitable, when we can continue our lives here for free. There will never be an end to the exploration we can have on this planet.
