Ready to dump Valora on CELO (Soon...)

Sigh... I've used Valora identity/wallet for the CELO blockchain for quite some time... after all, they were offering some pretty decent APR for stablecoins for quite a while during the crypto winter season. So, it was a handy place to park some US dollars in the form of cUSD and the liquid version of staked USD and CELO.

But for some reason, I've always found the transmitting and authorisation of transactions to be really janky. The authorisation window would sometimes just hang and spin around in circles... and then throw up a time-out several hours later. Needless to say, this is pretty frustrating when you are trying to move crypto money around... or even just to stake and unstake CELO or cUSD. And now that there are better APR opportunities around on the Ethereum Layer 2s, there really isn't that much of a reason to leave my cUSD sitting around on a janky experience with slightly lower APR.

... and so, I will either jump everything over to a CELO wallet that isn't via Valora... or bridge it to Cosmos, Ethereum, or Solana and park it in a vault over there instead. Except... they have just released a weekly "lucky" draw where twenty wallets that are using Valora will have the chance to double their stablecoin balance! Well, that is worth just sticking around for a few more weeks, I guess...

... but as soon as this promotion is over, I'm jumping this little stash to something else. The staked cUSD was swapped on an open market... to dodge the problem of hanging transactions... for some reason the in-wallet swap mechanism is pretty fast but you do get a slight fee to pay. On the other hand, I got sick of trying and failing to authorise a transaction!

The staked CELO will be a trickier problem... the in-wallet swap is offering a terrible price (roughly a 99% haircut...) to swap stCELO for CELO... so, that isn't really an option. I might just send the stCELO to a different wallet that is controlled by a different software and then just make that the main CELO interaction. After all, CELO is migrating away from being an alt-Layer 1 to being one of another of the vast array of Ethereum Layer 2s....

Anyway, hang around for the double or nothing... and then I'm jumping ship. I'm not even sure why my Valora wallet has been so janky for so long... and I'm not willing to spend any more time trying to trouble shoot it.
