Good day, people of Hive, and a happy new week! We are already in Juneinleo's monthly prompts, and before I write today's topic, let me define friend.
Definition of Friend
To me, a friend is an individual who has a close and strong bond by showing affection, support, and trust with each other. They also share their interests, experiences with each other, emotions, joy, and happiness, and lastly, understand each other. They are the ones who show support and encouragement when they see that one of them is unhappy.
So let's dive into today's topic. What values do you seek in a friend?
Honesty
I value honesty in friends because friends who are honest with each other build trust, and because of that, they can easily share their feelings and thoughts and also fear being judged.
Loyalty
I also value loyalty in friendship, in the sense that they will stand by each other's side through good and bad times, and they will support each other through thick and thin. And to add to this, in friendship, I hate when you are a two-sided person, in the sense that you will be acting as if you are loyal to your friends, but on their backs, you will be saying awful things about them. I want a friend who will be loyal to me and stand for me in times of trouble or in times of need.
Kindness!
In friendship, I value kindness because if you are kind to each other, your friendship bond will be tight. In friendship, they support each other; when one is sad, they will be there to cheer the person up; it also shows empathy, creating a time to hear what's bothering or happening to one of them; and considering each other's feelings; and lastly, showing compassion to each other.
Understanding
In friendship, I love how they understand each other when one is not happy and he or she is not showing it, the remaining friends will know that something is wrong with him or her, especially if the person doesn't want to share it. They will understand that it's something private, and they won't try to invade the person's privacy.
Respect
In friendship, I love how they treat each other with respect and how when one is secretive and does not want the others to know but the remaining friends know that one of them is secretive, they will respect the person's privacy.
Trustworthy
I love friendship how they trust each other's opinions, how they tell each other secrets, how they share what's wrong with them and also how they will not spill their secrets to anyone.
Lastly, in friendship, I love how they bring joy, make each other laugh, and bring happiness to each other. Also, in friendship, I love how they enjoy each other's company, lighten each other's moods, create memories or experiences, and joke with each other's. There's one thing I love about friendship: how one person will be sad and the other will light up the atmosphere just to make the other happy.
All these things are what I value in friends: how they understand, support, and cheer for each other.
