Michael's leg fell off again.
Emma said it was because of a lack of circulation. Apparently, the blood needs to go into it properly; otherwise, it won't stay on.
Michael is pretty down about it. I don't know why he wants to keep the stupid leg.
It's black now and smells like the back of the meat larder when you haven't cleaned it out for a while.
Emma told me that she's going to throw it away when Michael falls asleep. He is hugging his leg in the corner, by the fire, humming to himself.
It is the same song he's been singing since the incident.
I never heard him sing it before. In fact, I never heard the song before the creature came.
I asked Michael about it and he just shrugged and kept on humming. Emma says she hasn't heard it before, either. Perhaps the monster has put something into Michael's brain at the same time it ripped off his leg.
Emma is sitting at the cave opening, watching out for the creature. I said I didn't think it would come back.
But you never know.
