Far Cry is a series of first-person shooter video games created by Crytek and distributed by Ubisoft. The first game in the series was Far Cry, developed in Germany by Crytek and distributed by Ubisoft in 2004 for Microsoft Windows.
Due to its success, several sequels were developed under the same title: Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 6. Expansions and alternate histories have also been released: Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Far Cry Primal and Far Cry New Dawn.
