Health is wealth: Stay healthy by staying hydrated.

    Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We need to stay healthy as we go about our daily activities. When our body fails, we can no longer go about our daily activities, which makes it very important that we take our health seriously. Many people who failed to see the importance of staying healthy but instead chose to pursue wealth over health really did not like the end results. The truth is, with health, you can pursue wealth.

If you choose to ignore health and pursue wealth, at the end of the day, the wealth gathered will be used to pursue good health and will be useless. Health related matters should be taken seriously; even a slight headache should not be overlooked, and maybe the habit of regular check-ups should be adopted. We should not wait until we are sick or breakdown before we go for check-ups.

There are so many ways and steps we all have taken to help us stay healthy. While growing up, I was even labeled a sickler because of how often I fell ill. My parents took me from one hospital to the next, and they had to check my genotype and blood group, which were both fine, but what was the problem? That was the question they kept asking themselves and every doctor they met. As a grownup, I have stayed years without stepping foot into a hospital or seeing what a hospital looks like, and it amazes me.

    Stay hydrated.

The one tip to staying healthy I will be sharing is for everyone to stay hydrated. No matter how bad it might be, try to stay hydrated, as it helps the entire body system. The health of one's kidneys totally depends on how hydrated they are, and the digestion of the food we eat also depends on the amount of water in our system. Also, blood flow is aided by the amount of water in our body system. For our body to function effectively, we need to stay hydrated.

I never believed in the importance of staying hydrated, as I could go two days without drinking water, but I will be eating heavy food and not drinking water at all, and I was really proud of myself that I could do what many can't do but did not know the harm I was causing myself. The whole thing dawned on me when I couldn't urinate anymore, and I felt real pain whenever I tried to urinate. Since we were living in the northern part of the country then, my mom asked questions, and neighbors told her it was called Rana in the Hausa language, which means sun.

Illness like that is mostly suffered during the dry season when you are not hydrated enough, so I was told to be drinking at least 5 liters of water a day for 3 days, and if it persists, my mom should take me to the hospital. My mom took it very seriously. She got a 5-liter container, and every morning it was filled with water for me, and she made sure I finished it. The pain I felt disappeared, and I did not even notice it. Since then, I have taken staying hydrated seriously, so to stay healthy, you must stay hydrated.
