Mi primer amor al detectar las posibilidades que tenía en mi nuevo jardín fueron las orquídeas, soy amante de las flores exóticas, siento fascinación por ellas y dado el espacio y las características del lugar me propuse hacer una colección y coseche mis primeras flores.
Lo hice sin tomar en cuenta uno de los factores más importantes en el desarrollo de estas especiales y nobles plantas, cuando ellas están en su medio, en la naturaleza, en los árboles, alimentándose del agua de lluvia y del rocío que arrastra polvo y otros nutrientes del tronco, ramas y hojas de los árboles en dónde se alojan, ellas se reproducen calculando la luminosidad que van a recibir en diferentes épocas del año.
Es el sol y la luminosidad a ciertas horas del día lo que las orquídeas (y casi, casi todas las plantas) para cumplir su ciclo completo necesitan, para regalarnos su floración y para reproducirse y no lo tome en cuenta en su totalidad, al llegar a casa, las bien ubique y cuando hubo un cambio por el nuevo solsticio dejo de entrarles rayos de sol y no lo vi, entristecieron, me fui de vacaciones y no lo soportaron.

Loving exotic flowers.
My first love when I detected the possibilities in my new garden were orchids. I am a lover of exotic flowers, I feel fascination for them, and given the space and characteristics of the place, I set out to make a collection and harvested my first flowers.
I did it without taking into account one of the most important factors in the development of these special and noble plants. When they are in their environment, in nature, on trees, feeding on rainwater and dew that carries dust and other nutrients from the trunk, branches, and leaves of the trees where they reside, they reproduce by calculating the luminosity they will receive at different times of the year.
It is the sun and the luminosity at certain hours of the day that orchids (and almost all plants) need to complete their cycle, to give us their flowering and to reproduce. I did not fully consider this. Upon arriving home, I placed them well, and when there was a change due to the new solstice, they stopped receiving sunlight, and I did not see it. They saddened, I went on vacation, and they could not bear it.
Decepcionada del cultivo de orquídeas y animada por una amiga comencé con las bromelias, nunca había escuchado algo sobre ellas y descubrí que son unas nobles y generosas plantas, se adaptan más fácil, unas son terrestres, otras aéreas y todas las que hemos traído se han multiplicado, necesitan poco riego, nutrientes suministrados con el agua cada cierto tiempo, trasplantar a sus retoños una vez que la flor se marchita, cuando esto pasa la planta madre muere dejando su sucesora y algunas hasta dos o tres más.
Estas son algunas de las plantas de mi jardín aéreo, en mi proyecto está aumentar mi colección de bromelias, la de cactus, suculentas agaves y aloes pequeños, que también un día les mostraré, un proyecto que espera por la reparación de los ventanales, ya que se hace difícil su rodamiento y estamos espaciando el mantenimiento del jardín hasta tanto no resolvamos el problema.
Espero que disfruten de las flores, todas nacieron aquí en casa, en el área externa del jardín aéreo y en forma permanente le hacemos supervisión, al ver la floración las pasamos a la parte interna, sí, sé que es egoísmo de nuestra parte, pero de no hacerlo los pájaros pueden engullirlas en una mañana y estamos seguros de que estás bellezuras aladas tienen más para alimentarse en los alrededores, las flores de bromelia protegidas al interior pueden algunas permanecer cerca de dos meses mostrándonos su belleza para nuestro deleite y de nuestros familiares y visitantes.

Disappointed with orchid cultivation and encouraged by a friend, I started with bromeliads. I had never heard anything about them and discovered that they are noble and generous plants. They adapt more easily; some are terrestrial, others are aerial. All the ones we have brought have multiplied. They need little watering, and nutrients are supplied with water every now and then. Transplanting their offspring once the flower withers is necessary. When this happens, the mother plant dies, leaving its successor and sometimes even two or three more.
These are some of the plants in my aerial garden. My project is to increase my collection of bromeliads, cacti, succulent agaves, and small aloes, which I will also show you one day. This project awaits the repair of the windows as it is difficult to roll them, and we are spacing out the garden maintenance until we solve the problem.
I hope you enjoy the flowers. All born here at home, in the external area of the aerial garden, and we supervise them permanently. When we see them blooming, we move them to the internal area. I know it is selfish of us, but if we don't do it, the birds can devour them in one morning. We are sure that these winged beauties have more to feed on in the surroundings. The protected bromeliad flowers inside can remain for about two months, showing us their beauty for our delight and that of our family and visitors.
Así les iré mostrando nuestro repleto jardín aéreo y contando sobre el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos, ya que también quiero distribuir plantas más grandes al interior del apartamento como estrategia decorativa y de purificación del aire que respiramos.
Como compromiso está por fotografiar los pájaros que nos visitan, toman agua y se bañan en las tinas que tenemos para ellos, sobre todo los colibríes que nos visitan todas las tardes para alimentarse de las flores de " camarón " que cultivamos para ellos.
