My aim as a kid and my realization now

Growing up as a kid, there were many things I wanted to do and achieve, and now thinking about them just made me realise how childish I was back then. I’m sure many people can relate to how they set some goals when they were kids, and now they realise how unrealistic they were. I was so in love with Superman that my dream was to become Superman and save the world. Well, I might not have Superman abilities, but I’m Superman to some people.

One of my earliest childhood memories, which I wouldn’t forget and which I’m going to tell my kids, was when I had the determination to become a fighter. I was just a young and fragile child. The only male child in the family, I wanted to become a fighter so bad I learned all of Jacky Chan moves on TV. (Now I know the kind of movies I would let my children watch.)

After I had the delusion I was a good fighter like Jack Chan, I challenged a boy to a street fight. A funny fact was that I did not challenge a boy of my age; I challenged a boy 6 or 7 years older than me. I wanted to use my fighting skills to bring him down. The fight was set for that evening, and I was filled with so much confidence that I felt like I could bring down anyone that crossed paths with me.

We all got to the fight location, then got ourselves ready for the fight. We were set. I ran towards the boy, and he held me by the arm. The next thing I saw was that I slammed my body against the ground. I stayed there for some seconds to confirm what happened, but I couldn’t tell what really happened, so I got up and went after him again. To cut the long story short, the guy beat the hell out of me. If I could sue him, I would have, but I was the one looking for a fight. I got home and report the boy to my mom; you know how mothers can be when their only son gets the beating of his life. The boy got punished for his crime, and I tried my best not to cross paths with him again.

I did not learn my lesson tho.

I was returning home from an errand my mom sent me when this older girl (I called her girl because she was just a girl before my eyes) insulted me because I did not greet her first. I picked a fight with her, and she beat me up. I never told anyone of this story, it was just me and the girl on the street that day.

Currently, I’m a grown man. I took my time to learn kickboxing for fun. I go to the gym most of the time, but anywhere I see people fighting, I’ll take the opposite direction. I avoid fight scenes so much now, not because I’m lazy or anything. After learning kickboxing and watching a few of their matches, I decided that fighting wasn’t my destiny.

All I want now is to buy some good crypto, earn so much money, have my woman by my side, and live a peaceful life in a peaceful country.
