We Do Not Judge Others By Their Outward Appearance In This Kingdom.

    In the Bible, some of the Corinthians didn't really like Paul, and it was because of two reasons;

    1. He was unimpressive in his outward appearance.

    2. And he was unimpressive in his speaking abilities.

    2 Corinthians 10:10 says

    For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

    As I was studying this passage of the Bible, I was also reading the enduring word and there was a description of Paul from an early Christain writing that describes him as a man of a small stature, with a bald head and crooked legs in a good state of body with eyebrows meeting and nose somewhat crooked. Paul didn't exactly have a model appearance.

    2 Corinthians 11:5-6
    But I don’t consider myself inferior in any way to these “super apostles” who teach such things. I may be unskilled as a speaker, but I’m not lacking in knowledge. We have made this clear to you in every possible way.

    Paul was not a polished and impressive Christain speaker but he knew God, that was why he preached the gospel with power. As a believer you must be bold enough to speak and release the gifts that God have given you for his glory as Paul did. Even if you do face rejection, which you probably will, the sustaining power of the holy spirit will make you to keep showing up and be obedient.

    Paul reminds us that God's grace is sufficient in our weakness. There are so many examples throughout the Bible of how God calls the unqualified, so if you are struggling with confidence or because you don't feel like you are good enough, take a look at Paul's life and see how he showed up anyway and he served well.

    We all need to repent for judging outward appearance as a qualifier, for good Christian leadership. It is so easy to judge people on who they have a big social media following or they are beautiful and attractive, and that does not make you a great Christain leader. What makes you a great Christain leader is your heart posture and do you actually know God?. Just like the Corinthians Christains, we measure worth completely wrong in today's society.

    God help us to see people's heart for you as a measure of good Christian leadership and not their outward appearance. Remove judgmental and criticism spirit in us.
