Talking about a characteristic I didn’t know I had until someone pointed it out to me: my deep voice.
I discovered this two years ago when I was talking to a friend, a female, from the blockchain. Every now and then, she would tell me to stop faking my voice because I sounded like someone she used to know. I’d respond, “Me? Faking my voice? No, this is just how I talk.”
When I pressed her for more details, she tried to evade the topic with irrelevant talks but when I insisted, she eventually confessed that my voice was deep, and it reminded her of a close friend who happened to be her ex(maybe still a current lover). At that time, our friendship was thriving, and we would talk frequently, especially at night when we were both in bed(separate beds please, I mean, on phone call). Naturally, my voice would be more relaxed, and the depth would become more pronounced. To be honest, I was flattered that she found my voice captivating, but I didn’t think much of it. I figured that whatever effect my voice had on her was unique to her, since no one else had ever pointed it out before. I’ve always been around people, and none of them had ever mentioned anything about my voice.
Then, I met several more female friends who made similar comments, and that’s when my head started to swell a bit. I thought to myself, “So I’ve had this trait all along and never realized it? Wow, what a mess up!” Lol.
So, does a deep voice work magic on ladies?
I know it can’t be all ladies, but from what I’ve read and from the facts I’ve gathered, many women seem to be quite drawn to deep voices. I remember reading a random post on the blockchain by jazclassic(I hope she's able to recall the article). It was a piece of fiction, but the way she wrote it made it seem like it was based on her own romantic experiences. She mentioned how the deep voice of the guy she was falling for took her to heaven and brought her back to earth within a minute. I couldn’t resist dropping one of my usual humorous comments, and she went on to confess that a deep voice could completely undo her. Lol. Maybe I should tag her, @jazclassic(the only person I'm mentioning because she doesn't know me and can't drag me. Lol)
It may sound like I’m exaggerating, but the truth is, ever since I became aware of the impact of my deep voice, I’ve used it well on a casual note though. However, I’ve stopped engaging with people, especially female friends, as much as I used to, because I’m trying to take life more seriously now. Lol. Before, I’d make friends, get to the talking stage over the phone, and let the magic happen.
Like I said, though, it doesn’t work on everyone. There was one instance where I sent a voice note to someone, and she asked me not to send her voice notes again because she didn’t have time to listen to them. Imagine that!😂
I tried by not mentioning names to limit the dragging. FUN🥱
