Hand embroidery | Creative-Sunday

It's the first time I tried hand embroidery and the results I got were not as satisfactory as I was expecting but still, the journey of trying it for the first time is absolutly satisfying.

My mom doesn't like hand embroidery even when she saw me holding an embroidery frame she started saying people are moving to the moon and you are still doing these useless things. There is a reason behind her rude behaviour towards hand embroidery, before my birth my mom, my grandmother, and my father's sisters all did hand embroidery for money. She has lots of scary memories with hand embroidery that's why she doesn't want her daughter to do the same thing that she did for years without liking it.

I have a message for Mom; "Mom I love you and I know you are my well-wisher but don't stop me just because of a scary future. Just let me fly, fly higher in the sky... I don't want to stay in a shell for years. I want to learn everything I like.

As I mentioned before it's the first time I tried hand embroidery so the results may dishearten you but for me the journey of learning values more than the results.

I made a pattern with a pencil and started doing embroidery while watching it from a YouTube video. I made leaves and stems before making the petals of flowers and when I was doing leaves and stems I thought it was just a piece of cake, don't know why people say you can't do it on the first try. But when I started making petals of flowers... Oh my God, this is so hard, I was making just basic really basic mistakes.

But I keep making it to the end because I don't want to run from the journey of learning. And the result of the embroidery is here:

Well, this is not the end of my journey for learning because when I did this embroidery I went for lots of tries just to get perfection but how is this possible that one can learn a whole skill in just one night and achieve perfection too?

I disturbed my sleep pattern, I usually sleep at 10 but last night I slept at 1'o clock just because I was doing this. I want my petals to look perfect but destiny has other plans. I won't make a single perfect petal of all the flowers I tried. Here are some tries of flowers I made to achieve perfection:

Isn't it sad? But wait let's not give up and try one easy flower... Easy, yes it was but I messed it up too. This design was created by me and I just prepared an image in my mind and did this embroidery. The colourful thread on the boundaries of the flower is a mixture of four different flowers. I tried to make some unique designs but ended up doing this:

This is all of my new journey of learning embroidery, but next week I'll share some improved results of my hand embroidery.
