I am so sorry that I didn't appear in Throwback Thursday, but today I am writing in Flashback Friday. My days are packed with work, classes, hostel chores, outings, and so many things.
Today, I decided to show you my complete day from opening my eyes in the morning till my sleep. It's gonna be fun, I believe.
On this Wednesday, I got up with sleepy eyes. I slept much late, as usual. I want to sleep early, but my hostel mates are a mess. They always make noise, and I remain worried about my sleep. In the morning, I have to get up early because if I miss getting up on time, then I might miss my morning breakfast in the hostel mess.
Well, I got up and went to the hostel's dining hall, where I had my breakfast. After that, I reminded myself to wash my clothes. It's a tiresome activity for me. I want someone who can wash my clothes, but at the same time, I don't have money to pay someone.
You know, what's bad happened to me? While I was washing my clothes, I felt an electric shock from the water tap. I found jugaad (a resourceful, non-conventional way to fix or make something using basic or inexpensive items) to tackle these electric shocks. I used my dried dress to open the tap and close the tap.
Once I washed all my clothes, I spread them over the grill of the hostel. Every student does this on his/her free day. It's what we call hostel life which is full of life. In this life, we pretend to be busy all the time.
I suddenly reminded myself that I had skipped my one class unintentionally. I ironed my dress for the day and started getting up ready. Taking a bath with warm water is the only luxury that I feel in the hostel.
After taking a bath and wearing a new ironed dress, I am feeling fresh and new. This is a new day with a new beginning. But, I assume my days are no more productive. My days are monotonic and similar in pattern. I hate it. I want to have productive days, but I am sluggish in it. Mobile is the one main element that is ruining my productivity.
I walked out of the hostel as I got a message from my mates. They urged me to come to university as they were holding a surprise for me. I thought they might be playing a trick with me. Outside of the hostel, Workers were cleaning the ground, and they were maintaining the bushes. These bushedisturbbs the students. As this university is nestled between hills that's why there are so many animals who are hiding in there. Specifically, there are wild boars and students are afraid of them. That's why these bushes have to be clear from time to time.
A tractor was making a loud sound, and some people with different cutting items were cleaning the bushes.
I walked by the bridge. This bridge looks so beautiful, but in the rainy season, it becomes a bit challenging to walk through it. I saw the litter that all university students have spread. Many times, I think that these students are tomorrow's leaders, but they are making this planet an unlivable place. They are the same people who have philosophies, but they lack actions in their lives. They just talk about climate injustice but they don't pay attention to their living habits. This is irony, isn't it?
While walking, I noticed each little happening around me. A person who was standing on the rooftop with a mobile was seeing me. Some students were walking on the road, busy in their own lives.
I walked for ten minutes and reached my department. A giant tree that was always standing in the middle of the department was waiting for me.
I took my class in second language acquisition, and then we went to social huts. Social Hut is a hotel where we spend most of our university time. We keep on sitting there idly. We talk mundane and just sit there to take a sip of the tea. It's sometimes productive, but mostly it's a waste of time, I know.
One thing I forgot: Where the hell is my surprise? I asked my mate but she was still keeping it a surprise for me. She took me to the Earth Science Auditorium, where a ceremony was happening. Our fellow was doing comparing over there and we were supposed to clap for her.
Strangely, the auditorium was not filled with students. Only those who were supposed to receive a certificate and those who were supposed to give a certificate were present. I sat in the very back seat.
This particular ceremony was organized to recognize the dedication of those university students who are working for the education of underprivileged kids and children. This ceremony was held by the library of our university
Certificates were given to all the volunteers. We all clapped over it and made some high voices to appreciate their dedication.
We walked towards social huts to have some chill moments and to see my surprise. My friends were constantly triggering me. I was guessing what would be my surprise. I was assuming that it would be "Kheer"(Rice pudding).
I have always loved this glass-made cottage. It gets my ultimate attention whenever I pass by.
Yeahhhhh... I was quite right in guessing my surprise. It was Kheer made with rice and milk. I love it to infinity. My friends are best here cause they know what I love the most.
Although I don't usually share my favorite things with anyone at that moment, I was quite bound to share my dessert.
I cleaned my small pack of Kheer and thanked my friends for this delicious surprise. It was delicious. I will go to Islamabad, and then I will buy one kilogram of Kheer.
We almost wasted many of our hours while sitting idle over there. Night fell, and we were still wandering in the university. That's why I don't like going out.
I came back to my hostel and had my dinner in the dining hall of the hostel. There was chicken qorma for dinner.
After dinner, I sat with a cat. This cat was trembling with chill. She was folding her body to feel herself warm. She was sitting close to me. I may have sat with her for a long time, but my mind reminds me to take medicine for scabies.
Shielded me with a hoodie and went to university. There is a shuttle service that arrives from the university. On this shuttle, students can go to the main city and they can come back after an hour.
I was so much engrossed in observing the colorful bazaar. I saw some cats who were being fed by people. There was a long queue of people who were standing to buy biryani from a shop.
I searched for a pharmacy, but before that, I bought chia seeds for myself. Luckily, I found a pharmacy from where I bought my medical lotion.
I got late, and I missed my bus. Then, I came to my university by public transport. That's how my days fell into nights. It's one day of my life.
