We’ve lived in our house now for about five years. So our neighbors around us have seen our kids kind of grow up from little babies. And they’ve had to interact with our kids a lot too as I have very outgoing outside kids. So they’ve had to deal with kids knocking on their doors, asking to weed their yards to earn money. they’ve asked them to buy their creations so that the kids can earn money. They’ve asked them to play in their yards. They’ve asked them to borrow their toys.
You get the picture, right?
Well, one of my kids is recently got into collecting rocks. And he goes around the neighborhood and looks for random rocks. Pick them up off the street goes up the canyon. Find some random rocks and pick them up. Well, the neighbors have seen this happening.
Today, one of his dreams came true, and someone dropped off a box of cool rocks and collectibles.
I think all my kids thought it was pretty awesome.
It’s amazing how generous people are with their time and with their resources. Especially when it comes to kids. I think it’s easier to be more generous when there’s kids around and I’ve seen that as I interact with my neighbors and in this little neighborhood that we live in.
Take a look at the three coolest things. I think they brought. There were also hundreds of polished rocks that she gave him.
So the moral of the story is to be more neighborly. I think lots of times I am pretty friendly when I’m outside of my house, but I don’t really find ways to serve others. Today was a good example of why we should do better.
