Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday again we got a few snowflakes, but unfortunately not more. At least it's still cold, we finally stay below freezing all day. Hopefully it will last.
Even if like I said previously I am still not very efficient at work, we managed to start our long walk of the day before nightfall.
When we arrived near the forest, it almost looked like there was more snow but it was just due to the wind.
Just at the entrance, we found deer and Kaia made a big training mistake. In my experience, a very difficult thing in dog training is to make them understand the difference between working mode and play mode. It's especially tricky when they're off-leash as it's pretty easy to associate it with free dog command. But while on-leash, there should not be any doubt, they should be aware of the surroundings but stay in heeling position. In spite of a few recent mistakes, I thought Kaia did know that. Well she didn't and tried to chase these deer. She yanked on the leash so hard I even dropped my phone. Luckily Samsung phones aren't as fragile as some others, like Apple. But still Kaia had to go through several long down/stays with deer in the vicinity. It's very tempting for her of course, but she did good. We'll keep working on that.
After a little bit, she finally heard some of her favorite words 'free dog'..
Rest of our walk was less eventful and we stayed there until it got dark.
And that was it for the day's activities. As I expected, I missed the bar for #poprzeczka again. That's three times in a row, I'm done with the December session. Let's see how January goes.
