I hope you are feeling great, here we start Monday with rain, and despite not being the best start of the week that I would have expected, here I came ready to share the creation that is moving forward in the whole field of needlework. This time I started with Baba's Lemon Style Eyes, it's a beer that has very cool designs, and these eyes fascinated me, plus lemon is one of my favorite fruits and I loved the design since I saw it. Instantly I thought of making them embroidered and not too big to occupy holes in the costume of the murga.

Espero que se encuentren genial, aquí comenzamos el lunes con lluvia, y pese a no ser el mejor comienzo de semana que hubiera esperado, aquí vine lista para compartir la creación que va a avanzando en todo el ámbito de las agujas. Esta vez comencé con los Ojos estilo limón de Baba, es una cerveza que tiene diseños muy geniales, y estos ojos me fascinaron, además el limón es una de mis frutas favoritas y me encantó el diseño desde que lo vi. Instantáneamente pensé en hacerlos bordados y no muy grandes para ocupar huecos en el traje de la murga.
We started with the first one, and being small I was able to make the black border quite fast. In these cases I understand that the small works have more care on my part, because a lot of work is done on a small stretch of fabric and this makes it "wear out" a little faster. So I will put a reinforcement on the back.

Comenzamos con el primero, y al ser pequeños pude hacer bastante rápido el borde negro. En estos casos voy entendiendo que los trabajos pequeños tienen más cuidado por mi parte, porque se trabaja mucho en un pequeño tramo de tela y esto hace que se “gaste” un poco más rápido. Por lo que les pondré luego un refuerzo por detrás.

When I started with the eye color, I thought it would be more difficult to accomplish this part, however I managed to make it look neat. I'm starting to use a great tip I got from a friend in the murga, about whenever in doubt, put one less mustard. That is to say, that which I think will be a hole or that will look bad, it is better to leave it "a little empty" and not with a little bit too much mustard, since this changes the final result. So I started by leaving small gaps, confirming that at one or two meters, which is the distance when dancing between colleagues or towards the public, it is not noticeable at all.

Cuando comencé con el color de los ojos, pensé que sería más difícil cumplir esta parte, sin embargo logré que quede prolijo. Estoy comenzando a usar un gran consejo que me dio una amiga de la murga, sobre siempre que tenga dudas, colocar una mostacilla menos. Es decir, eso que yo pienso que será un hueco o que quedará mal, es mejor que quede “un poco vacío” y no con una mostacilla de más, ya que esto cambia con notoriedad el resultado final. Asique comencé por dejar pequeños huecos, confirmando que a uno o dos metros, que es la distancia al bailar entre colegas o hacia el público, no se nota en absoluto.

I used these small sconces to cover my free time with some calming activity. Some mornings I went further, some evenings too. In the afternoons I tried not to do this, as I am not in a hurry to finish any of my work.

In the case of the lemon style eyes, I didn't know how the yellow part, which is actually a small touch of color, would look, so I kept using white sequins, but giving it the sparkly touch with yellow beads.

I was unlucky that my stress exploded at one point, forcing me to pause. When work is meant to be de-stressing, and I find myself very charged with bad energy, things happen. The thread got really, really tangled and when I saw it I couldn't believe it. Let's see, it's something that can be fixed no problem, but I thought my energy just got tangled in the threads and although the work is not ruined, it will take time and calm to be able to untangle. That night I had to stop everything and continued the next day.

Tuve la mala suerte de que mi estrés explotara en un momento, obligándome a poner pausa. Cuando el trabajo tiene que ser desestresante, y yo me encuentro muy cargada de mala energía, suceden cosas. El hilo se enredó muchísimo y cuando lo vi no pude creerlo. A ver, es algo que se puede arreglar sin problema, pero pensé que mi energía acababa de enredarse en los hilos y aunque el trabajo no está arruinado, tomará tiempo y calma para poder desenredar. Esa noche tuve que parar todo y continué al otro día.
The work on the back is still neat, I like this because it clearly speaks of better and more orderly work. The result is what you see from the front, but it is really interesting that they follow an order and there are no complications on the back.

Los trabajos por detrás siguen siendo prolijos, esto me gusta porque claramente hablan de mejor y más ordenado el trabajo. El resultado es el que se ve por delante, pero realmente es interesante que sigan un orden y no existan complicaciones por el dorso.
The final part of filling in the little bit that remains of the eyeball was simple and quick, a super light job and not difficult at all. I thought about how much I like to make some parts very detailed, only with beads, and other parts as backgrounds and cover more space, with sequins and see the progress at a faster pace.

El final de rellenar lo poquito que queda del globo ocular fue sencillo y rápido, un trabajo super ligero y para nada difícil. Pensé en lo mucho que me gusta hacer algunas partes muy detalladas, solo con mostacillas, y otras partes como fondos y cubrir más espacio, con lentejuelas y ver el avance a mayor ritmo.
The green eye was the same, without the tangled thread episode, haha. Light to embroider, entertaining and fun. I can't wait to see them on the suit, but there is still some time and waiting to have more and make applique movement, remove some and add others. El ojo verde fue igual, sin el episodio del hilo enredado, jaja. Ligero de bordar, entretenido y divertido. No veo la hora de poder verlos lucir en el traje, pero aún queda un tiempo y una espera para poder tener más y hacer movimiento de apliques, quitar alguno y añadir otros.
