Human wants are insatiable, we tend to look for another things when we get something we have been willing to have ,we do want more and more. A woman who has been praying to God for the fruit of the womb, will ask even if it is one and after so many years was blessed with a child will still look out for a way to get another child again, she would forget she asked even if it is only one. Her prayer point will changed to "I don't want to have only one child, I want my child to have a sibling to talk to, play with and share thoughts with."
Another one is couple who will give birth to one gender either male or female, they will keep trying and getting the same result, some marriages even get destroyed because of this. If they are all girls ,they would say the name of that family will go perish ,cos every one of them will have to change her name when they get married and if they are all boys ,they would say the parents is likely to suffer at their old age because girls knows how to care for their old parents,that boys won't have such time but send their wives who might dislike them and give them poison to die or mistreat them.
My uncle gave birth to his sixth girl child just because he and his wife are both looking to having a boy, a whole six children in this economy, from feeding to schooling,their well being ,this is not an easy job but they caused it themselves, now those children will be deprived of some privilege due to they are many and can't get even just because of their parents greediness.
The issue is God is the planner of everything ,we are just in this world to also try our best not been idle ,He does things not because we requested or like it but because that is what we need.
Another thing is to train a child in the way you want them to be, A male child can do whatever a female child can also otherwise. Do not be ungrateful for God's give rather be happy that you have what someone else is willing to have.
