A random collection of nature's wonders.

Join us on a late afternoon walk and let's see what we can find.

Just a quick selection of about 170 photos that I took on the day.

I don't know about you, but I am totally hooked on the views in nature, and I love to share them with everyone. It generates a sense of peace and wonder in the self, as even now I still cannot fully understand how much time and effort were spent on the creation of everything that I see. Delicate colors, and also the wonder of eating and other habits of the little animals. Here are some different views below and I hope that you will also find them intriguing.
    Come and look.

Two more shots below of the fountain that was bathed in a spot of sunlight.

We sat at one of these benches having some coffee, when this little guy appeared. He seemed to pay us no mind and was digging behind the bench that you see in the picture. Can you see him?

Oh yes, it's a squirrel, digging for a nut that he hid some time ago, and I was glad to see the nut as he popped up onto the back of the bench.

Ah! Sure enjoyment after he skinned the nut.

Mister Malachite sunbird gave me the look, so as to say; Duck fella, I am sipping nectar here and don't want to be disturbed.

A new protea head starting to bloom below.

And that's what it looks like when it opens.

Finally, a fiscal also posed for me.

I like variety, as it's not the same old, same old, and nature holds so many beauties in its midst. So, whenever the sky is covered in cloud and makes long distance photos not easy because of the light, then I concentrate on the close views. When the weather is not good, we pop out to some wine estate farms, as there is always something for the camera's eye to see. Two of the big wine farms are fortunately close to us, Lourensford and Vergelegen, and that is where I get most of my sunbird photos. The wine farms are world famous and every year tourists flock in droves to the wine estates. Their wines are also awarded as the best in some overseas countries. We, however, abstain from alcohol, but there is always coffee available at the restaurants on the farms. So, when you visit South Africa, make sure that you don't miss a wine tour to one of these farms. I am sure that you will enjoy it.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and story.
