I'm starting this new year with a minimal power-up. This does not mean that I won't be investing much in Hive. I still get 50 percent of my author rewards and 100 percent of my curation rewards in Hive. I wanted to do small power ups so that I can focus the funds on something else. I was reading the article I wrote last year when the new year started. I was having a soft goal of reaching 150k Hive power before the end of the year.
Later I decided to reiterate my goal and wanted to have some realistic goal. That's when I thought 125k would be a good value. The price of Hive was also a contributing factor for me to reach the goal. I was able to complete the goal last month. This month onwards I'm keeping my investments a little low but I would still continue to stay invested.
I also had a goal of taking the funds from Hive and diversifying it on other coins but unfortunately, I couldn't do much of it last year. BTC also had a new All time high and there was no opportunity for me to invest on other coins. So I think I'm still stuck with Hive and probably I can say that maybe my diversification is inside Hive instead.
I'm going to keep my power-ups low this year too. But I did maintain a decent stat last year even though I said I won't be doing more power-ups. This year again, I'm starting it with a very low value but probably I might get mad and do bigger power-ups later.
I reached 25k extra Hive power before the end of the year and in spite of the fact that I powered up very less. Looks like I powered up 13k and I ended up with 25k in total from the author and curation rewards. That's a nice one.
I managed to write last month continuously without any break even though I took a break in November. The author rewards and curation rewards are pretty much similar which is really impressive. This gives me a feeling that my curation rewards are catching up with the author rewards. The price of Hive plays an important role in adding more value to the Hive I earn.
The above stats is from my secondary account that is running the witness node. It also has some HP that generates some curation rewards. I have also been thinking about writing a witness update once in a while. Running a HAF node has also been in my mind for a very long time. Hopefully, I can find some time this year to explore HAF and run a node for myself. This way I can explore the chain more and also make use of the node for my own bots.
Let's hope the price of Hive improves this year and Hive brings more fortune to all of us in 2025.
