After an easy 4 miles yesterday to give my legs a bit of a rest it was off to the Spence Spring trails for some good single-track running under the tall pines and granite boulders.
Despite the sunny but cool weather the area was quiet and I was the only person out on the dirt this morning.
Since the first couple of miles were a steady climb up to the Javelina trailhead my pace was slow but I felt pretty good. Once I left the Javelina it was a mostly twisting downhill for the next few miles but there were plenty of rocks to slow me down a bit. Still, this area is a great place for a run and it's always popular with the cyclists as well.
I'm hoping to average at least 7 miles daily and I crossed that threshold easily today so we'll see if I can do better tomorrow.
Finished off the day with our customary Lynx Lake hike - just a few other hardy souls out there to enjoy the quiet forest with us.
See you all tomorrow.
