Happy good Friday to you all across the globe, it's a beautiful moment as we are celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ this season, I wish you all the best of it as we celebrate his resurrection. It's my pleasure to bring to you on this day the cutting and sewing process of this beautiful outfit of a straight skirt and 1440° peplum flare blouse with a princess dart bustier cut using African print fabric of 4yards

It's Easter season and like I mentioned in my previous post that I have decided to make different outfits for my family members and I started by making some for my nieces and they were beautiful and lovely, this time, I am making this particular outfit for my uncle's wife, it's been awhile since I last visited my uncle in the village, his first wife passed on few years ago and recently, he got married to a new wife, during the wedding of my cousin, she was there and saw the beautiful outfit I made for my sisters and she admired them all when she was told I made those outfits, something in me had it in mind to make something for her as well but the challenge is how it will be delivered to her.

Fortunately, last week my cousin told me she will be going to the village to see my uncle for the Easter celebration and I immediately remembered that I promised to make an outfit for my uncle's wife. I went to the market, bought 6yards of African print fabric and when I got home, I started the cutting and sewing process as I first cut out the skirt before cutting out the blouse.

With my assumption, I was able to figure out her body measurement with her body structure. I cut out the front and back part of the skirt with lining and was sewn together.

After cutting and sewing the skirt with zipper at the back, I proceeded to the cutting of the blouse but first, from the remaining fabric after cutting out the skirt, I cut out 1440° flare which was cut out using the waist circumference measurement divide by 4 then divide whatever the answer is by 6.28 to get each flare, this was duplicated into 4 to give me 1440° flare.

The flare was duplicated on lining as well for net finishing and to turn the flare inside out, each edges were slashed open and sewn to the other just as seen below the lining and main fabric were taken to the sewing machine as I added crinoline to the hem of the flare while sewing with hemming gum.

For the blouse, I drafted out the upper bodice of an off shoulder princess dart bustier on a brown paper for the front and back which was later transferred to the main fabric where I cut out same shape.

I cut out a basic off shoulder sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference, the flare was sewn to the upper bodice as well with zipper at the back and the beautiful outfit is ready. To make it more beautiful, I bought half yard of an applique and attached it to the neckline.

I hope you like the outcome of the beautiful outfit I made for my uncle's wife, I believe she will be so surprised to have this outfit from me. I'm so glad I was able to finally make this.

This outfit will be delivered to her as soon as my cousin get to her place at the village.
