For some time now I've been determined to have plants (almost since I published my first post in this community), even though I don't have an earthen garden and live in a apartament. But that's why man invented pots, right? 😅 And I already have some planted, like oregano, rosemary and basil. But while they are growing and getting prettier, I want to introduce you to a place that I really liked because of the great variety of plants I could see.
It is a plot of land where they have created a very beautiful garden and it is also a place where they sell plants, postures and pots. It is in the courtyard of a house and is run by a very friendly lady who knows the name of each plant and the care they require. Here I also bought my little girl a small plant of her own choice.
When we walked in, the first thing we saw was a group of smaller plants, some were succulents, and it was from this group that my little girl chose a pot with a marble flower, and that was a great choice. She chose it just because she liked it and so did I, I have always found this species of plants very pretty, but not just because of the way they look.
This is a plant with various shades of colours ranging from a dark green to a light greenish grey, sometimes a little reddish, they grow in a peculiar way as they look like little roses, and the best thing is that they are very resistant and adapt well to warm climates like Cuba. That's why I was happy with my little one's selection.
Now some of the leaves have fallen off, but the best thing is that smaller ones are sprouting from the same leaves. I just left them near the main plant and they started to flower on their own. The truth is that it is a special matica. And I don't keep it alone, I put another small pot next to it, a cactus, so that it doesn't get bored and it has a friend to talk to about its secrets between succulents and cacti 🌵🌿.
Back in the garden, there were also a lot of flowers planted. I am fascinated by flowers, they are so delicate. Here they had a great variety. The most beautiful were the roses, of a blood red colour 🌹. Some of them were planted in bags with soil, so that they were easy to transplant and transport.
There was a great variety of plants and I had fun looking at them all, even if I didn't recognise many of them by name. A bonsai caught my attention (correct me if I am wrong) as it is not common to see them. I don't know what species it was, but I called it Cuban Bonsai. It was next to other plants and the truth is, I can't choose a favourite, I think I would have taken them all if I could 😅.
I promised myself I'd come back because it's the place where I've seen the greatest variety of plants, and the prices are cheap and affordable. They also sell clay pots, something I need for the pot plants I have on my balcony, so another day for sure I will come back to this lovely green space and I will tell you more.
