Hello friends on Hive!
As I sit down to reflect on the past holidays, I'm filled with warmth and gratitude. This Christmas and New Year season was truly special, and I'm excited to share my experiences with you all.
My family and I spent the holidays in Calabar, a city in southern Nigeria known for its rich cultural heritage. Our Christmas Eve was filled with excitement and anticipation. We attended a beautiful candlelight service at our local church, where the congregation sang carols and reflected on the true meaning of Christmas.
After the service, we headed back home to prepare for the big day ahead. My siblings and I helped with the cooking, while my parents set up the decorations. The aroma of traditional dishes like plantain and dog meat, rice and chicken, and the sound of laughter and music, filled our home.
Christmas Day was a time for family bonding and celebration. We exchanged gifts, shared stories, and enjoyed a sumptuous feast together. The highlight of the day was a visit to the Calabar Christmas Village, where we were treated to a spectacular display of cultural performances, including music, dance, and drama.
As we counted down to the New Year, we gathered at the Calabar Stadium for the annual crossover night event. The atmosphere was electric, with thousands of people from all walks of life coming together to praise, worship, and celebrate the start of a new year.
New Year's Day was a time for relaxation and reflection. We spent the day at home, sharing stories and memories from the past year, and making plans for the new year.
One of the things that made this holiday season special was the opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Calabar. From the traditional Efik dances to the colorful costumes and decorations, every moment was a celebration of our cultural identity.
As I look back on the past holidays, I'm filled with gratitude for the love and support of my family, and for the opportunity to experience the beauty and richness of our cultural heritage.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you a happy and prosperous new year!
Best regards,
Jackson Mark
