As the summer is approaching in India, people started to enjoy one of the coolest summer drink. All fresh and squeezed to make it a perfect summer drink available right on the street and shop. Sugarcane juice is one of the most preferred drinks during summer after lemonade. It is just the begining of summer and we already have suger cane juice availavle at many places.
The most satisfying aspect of sugarcane juice is its naturally sweet, refreshing taste, coupled with its ability to provide an instant energy boost due to the easily absorbed natural sugars, making it particularly enjoyable on hot days or when feeling tired. It also offers a sense of health benefits due to its nutrient content like vitamins and minerals, making it feel like a nourishing drink rather than just a sugary treat. On a hot summer afternoon a glassnof his freshly squeezed juice is a lifeline for me. As I was driving to some work, I found this sugercane cart right on a corner of a deserted stretch.
These are a common set up of sugercane vendor. In India, sugarcane juicers are very common, particularly in street food stalls and small shops, as sugarcane juice is a popular refreshing drink, especially during summer; most juicers are electric, made from food-grade stainless steel, and designed for efficient juice extraction with multiple rollers to crush the sugarcane thoroughly, making them readily accessible and widely used across the country.
This one is a colourful one, which has a generator, a squeezing roller, the juice outlay platform. Squeezing sugarcane juice is difficult because of its high fiber content, which acts like a dense network within the stalk, requiring significant pressure to break down and release the juice. The thick hard outer surface on a sugercane resist compression, making it challenging to extract the liquid efficiently without specialized equipment like a sugarcane juicer.
Machines range from small, manual hand-operated models for home use to large commercial machines capable of high-volume juice extraction. Most juicers utilize multiple stainless steel rollers to effectively crush the sugarcane and extract maximum juice. No matter how busy we get, finding these machines along the roadside always tempt us for a glass or two.
These carts seller, sells the fresh juice. They extract the outer cover and then place the sugary portion inside the rollers to squeeze them properly. Tempted on the afternoon I asked for 2 glass. They serve them on 100 ML disposable glass.

It was refreshing and sweet, enough to quench your thirst. I completelly enjoyed them. These were served with lemon juice, mint leaves and black salt. Making it savoring taste for hot summer.
Besides sugar, sugarcane juice contains vitamins, minerals like potassium and calcium, and antioxidants, adding a sense of health benefit to the taste. You can find sugarcane juicers in almost every Indian city and town, from small street vendors to dedicated juice shops. I had this vendor along the isolated stretch right in middle of a jungle. But the glass of juice was very sarifying.
In good faith - Peace!!
