I recently attended the seminar of Edward Lee, the founder of Col Financials, Inc. He has been in the industry for over 25 years already and have seen the ups and downs of the market. As a young stock trader and investor, attending seminars like these is really helpful in honing my skills and knowledge about the Philippine stock market. Thus, i'm always in a look out for these events.
Upon receiving an invitation for Col Financials for a seminar at Quest Hotel, i automatically signed up despite the date of the event being a work day. Anyway, I can always take a leave since i still have a few leave credits. Work was quite hectic during these days but i still pushed through.
As the title of the seminar state "Capitalizing on Market Opportunities", Sir Edward Lee tackled about the four market phases and how to spot them in your technical analysis. He also brought about the idea of active investing, leaning towards getting dividends while waiting for the stock's capital appreciation. "Buy on rumors, sell on news". The thing is, its difficult to find out which rumor is true and which ones are merely noise. The least that i can do is read some news and use the right judgement on it.
My 2025 Strategies
Following the inputs presented in the seminar, i'm planning to lie low in Philippine stock trading in 2025 and shift my portfolio to dividend stocks. This way, I can focus more on my job and other side hustles while still earning a semi-fixed dividends from stocks.
Meanwhile, the waiters served us this club sandwich. They also offered coffee or tea for beverages- I choose an earl grey tea.
Sitting in this seminar among with my fellow traders and investors while sipping my hot tea made me feel so empowered. It makes me want to thrive in this shared interest and improve my trading and investing skills. Next year, my goal is to have an ROI of 15% from my portfolio, compared to this year's projected ROI of 10%.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
