Hey Draw a Day community
I am sharing a special piece from my archives today. A drawing of Betsy the Butterfly, an original character from the Pinky and Spiky comics created by our dear friends Ausra and Vidas. This sketch, which I found while sorting through old online files, takes me back to those creative times from a year or two ago. We have a solid community participating in the pinkyandspiky comics making contest and participants have their own versions of the characters. Sadly, our friends are no longer active here on Hive, but their legacy lives on in Betsy and the rest of the Pinky and SPiky gang,
I took me some iterations and my Betsy took different forms and here I gave Betsy heart-shaped wings, a playful design choice to infuse her with love and character. The vibrant red wings with yellow spots, paired with her cheerful yellow body and confident pose, make her a standout. This is the look that I love and stick with it. I wanted to bring Betsy back to this community to reconnect with those memories and celebrate the joy of creating.
