Coffee at the Museum of Making

We visited the café situated just inside the Museum of Making, which showcases Derby's history of manufacturing and industry with the added bonus of some lovely graffiti art outside. It is also free to enter which is always a bonus in my book. It had to close temporarily last October as we had local flooding in the area, and the museum experienced substantial water damage.

Just above the entrance to café is a Toyota Corolla car that looks as though it has exploded in the air. You can just see it in the background. It would cause you a major headache if it fell on your head while drinking your coffee! 😁😳

Further up the steps is a rather imposing Derby-made Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine. It's probably the best entry to an establishment that I've ever seen. It certainly has the wow factor.

The last time I visited, I tried a turmeric latte. Even though I enjoyed it very much, my stomach didn't! I decided to play safe with an ordinary latte. So much for being experimental. The house coffee is actually roasted nearby. I do love a good mug!

We ordered veggie pie with broccoli and a beef and salad sandwich.

The cafe was excellent both for the coffee and the menu. It was good value for money and in an interesting location. I'm glad they managed to get it up and running after the floods.
